Electric

oh I understand the difference. Battery powered tools are awesome. The age old problem is power storage. From someone who grew up cutting firewood for heat, electric would not be optimal. We just ran saws for so long. My neighbor just dropped a tree, electric would not have worked. He used my stihl off and on for two days. combination of inexperience and the tree being in a bad spot.

Right on. I'm still not getting why electric would not work. You have multiple removable batteries that can recharge in less than an hour. You have a battery on the charger, while you're using the other.

An electric chainsaw is not using power until you pull the trigger, unlike a gas saw that is idling while hanging off you belt/harness if you;re up topping out a tree.

Great suggestion for those of us in single family homes.

Apartments, condos, etc...another story. Maybe in 40 years when solar collectors get miniaturized.

It's a thing where people put PV on their balcony. Get with it, bro (y)

CUntz, you really are “retarded”. Now you think you’re Elon Musk only with no brain, no money and no dick. Did you invent this too? :hys::hys::hys::hys::hys:

I know you don't have the data, and neither do I, but would that be enough to power the apt. AND charge a car every night?

Possibly. Anyhow, I had no idea about the balcony panels. Inventive!
Ho do you know I don't have the data?

That first balcony looks like a 450-500w split cell panel. If you get 6 hours of solar irradiation. The math is simple 6 x 500w = 3kw

I would not try to power the whole apartment. You can run certain loads, window AC, TV, etc..
Keep the grid for large loads like oven, dryer, heat. You could actually run an induction cook top from the solar.

Ok, it's not enough. Kinda makes my point about the grid, right?

I don't believe those set ups would be ok where I live.
I am a corner property, so that leaves me with two sides I cannot install panels on and two sides that I can install panels.
My southern direction is one of the sides I cannot install panels on...

Also, upon looking into transitioning to solar, I was told I would need 36 panels.
400 amp service.
By two different solar companies.
