Help explain this to me. Avid hasn't stopped selling new units, they created an expansion pack that increases the number of mdels and effects, they provide warranty support and, to my knowledge, have made no statements that they weren't keeping the product in their line-up. I'm not sure how Avid's support for the Eleven Rack differs form the way Line 6 supports the POD HD series units, or Fractal's support for the AxeFX. Am I missing something here?

Ok...fair enough and I totally see where you are coming from. ....perhaps I mis-typed what should have read "they haven't done anything with unit for more than a year and a half".

Would that sound more accurate?
The expansion pack was released 2 years ago, no?

Has there been anything new?
I know there were a pile of issues with the GUI suddenly not working with certain system updates as well.
As the previous user posted, the Digi idea scale thing died down very quickly.

To me that would appear that it is on it's way out?
I was able to move mine for a good price as I've had digi/now Avid products since 98 and have learned to realize when they are moving on with things. They are still brutally slow though with updating anything.

You can still buy them from retailers, so my assumption would be that they are shipping new product. I can't say that for a fact, though, and have no knowledge of what Avid plans for the unit in the futire. Even if they do nothing else, I'll keep using it and it has enough going for it that I will have more than gotten my investment back.

I think it is a great product at a fair price. It has a ton of connectivity options and integrates well with Pro Tools, if recording is a desire. It works great in my recording desk for practicing, as well as in my live rig, where it sees action 3-4 times a month. The only real complaint I have with it is the need for Pro Tools in order to load external patches. It would be great if you could load them from a flash drive using the LCD screen. Even on a good DAW, firing up Pro Tools can be time-consuming and lugging my rack rig out of the trailer and into the house is a two-man job. Lately, I've started physically swapping the 11R in my recording desk for the one in the rack rig. They are mirror-images of each other, so when I store new patches or edit existing ones, I do it in the one in my recording desk, export all rigs to the DAW and then swap the units. Then I just import the settings from the DAW to the other 11R and they are sync'd. I did just that yesterday, after spending several hours tweaking patches and changing things around for some shows we have this weekend.

Completely agree. My hope was that they were going to keep adding more models to it. I really liked it as well because it really has a nice intuitive interface and like you said, the linking with Pro Tools was fantastic.

I just hope they now don't turn around and bring another one to the table because the cycle will start again.....I mean, we know that happens with any product, regardless but this product isn't that old. I would still have had mine if they kept providing some timely model updates to it.

I freakin' love my Eleven Rack. I like it so much I was ok with it when I had to sell my 5153 50 watt (needed money). Don't get me wrong. I still wish I had the 5153 but the Eleven Rack is so freakin' good I don't really miss the 5153. I can get just about any sound I want out of it. I'm not an effect junky though
