So, kinda outta nowhere Ive been gassing for a blackmore the past week or so. Ive wanted to try out a savage for a long time, but Ive never had the chance. Since the blackmore is based off the savage, I got to thinking and checking out videos...so...fuel the fire dudes!! Tell me about how similar the blackmore is to the savage tone, what would you say the differences are? What about in comparison to a 6505? How is the clean on these amps? Just want to get a general idea of the similarities and differences between these 3...thanks!!

for your listening pleasure

not a 6505 but still a peavey

Killzones clips are absolutely sick.

Thanks for the vids too. I saw the 3120 video, but not the 6505 vid. I with the guy would have panned those 2 tracks. I bet I would probably dial the amps to sound similar, but the engls sound really good!!

sweet!! Ill check those out when I get home tonight!!

THe Blackmore has the best tone of any Engl. I had five Engls for reference.

fuck you guys.... the blackmore and savage are at the top of my list and some of these clips are just

i hate being poor

blackmore has killer cleans

I still much rather my 5150 over the blackmore for everything else though

PS. Any Aussies want to buy my blackmore?

ritchie played a savage 120 when he first started out - the blackmore is nothing but a retuned savage circuit with his specifications.

FWIW i wouldnt mind owning a savage 120 - out of the invader 100 and 150 series, powerball, fireball, etc it seems the most promising. i love what that amplifier can do with down-tuned guitars as well.

the other amplifier i want im currently building, eventually military life will allow me to build it on the side and build a prototype to fine tune. nothing else like it exists...im pretty excited to have the major and some minor parts of the lead channel finished as we speak

I love the Blackmore, it's a great amp.
I bought it and took it home and I sold my 6505 not long after, I liked it better.
It's similar to the savage but the savage has more gain, more lows and the mids seemed slightly different. The blackwhore has more crunch to my ears and less compressed sounding or some might say more open sounding.

The Blackmore is the Engl I gas over most. It just seems to have a more open sound with more grind and less buzz than the others. The PB always sounds a bit muffled while the FB sounds harsh, and all the other ones are just too expensive.

This

I haven't owned 5 different Engl's, but have owned several Powerballs, an e530, a couple Fireball's and a couple Blackmore's.

I know it's more pricey.... but try the STEVE MORSE signature!! it's awesome with the two low-mid and two high-mid settings !!!! I loved that, cause something for one riff or two you need more high mids, then more low-mids in the next one...

That was a pretty damn cool feature. That was my favorite part about it when I had mine. Scooping and boosting mids simultaneously FTW! But to be honest, if I were to ever get an ENGL again, it wouldn't be another morse, I'd get a savage.

Blackmore rules!!! I love mine!! Can't ever see me getting rid of it! I've compared the Savage and the Blackmore side by for for many hours and I kept my Blackmore.

Both amps kick ass. I just liked my Blackmore more for the price.

I still think about that amp every now and then...spent quality time with one at Chicago Amp Fest with HCAFs Beergoblin (his amp). Killer sounds....legato licks just flowing out of that bitch. One day, I may snag one.

I have had Blackmore gas for YEARS now! I love my fireball and if the blackmore has as good of cleans as that then they are stellar. I will own one of these one of these days soon!

Nice clips.

I really liked that metal riffing

Thanks!

The Blackmore is a killer amp. I have had a bunch of amps and the Blackmore has always stayed. I like it a lot better than the Fireball 100 and Invader 100 that I owned. Also like it a lot better than the SE and Powerball, both of which I have spent a lot of time on. :)
