I've considered adding a room mic, but not to layer in conjunction with the SM57. I'm more or less trying to give the most simple representation of my amps, which is why I use a mic and speaker everyone is generally familiar with. Makes it easier to compare with my other videos as a point of reference.

The room mic would be cool as it's own standalone thing that I cut to in certain situations just to show the in room sound.

I dig your simple recording approach to these vids. They’re very honest and neutral. I dig Ola’s demos, but he’s got some grease going on. His tones are much more colored than the in room sound. I’d love to see you add a room mic for an ITR portion to your demos.

I feel the same. I used to love Ola's tones but they seem really scooped or almost blanketed in the past year or so. It's weird. I just try to keep it simple and relatable.

As far as the ITR mic, I'm definitely thinking about it. Just makes the editing process and setup more difficult so I'm again, trying to keep it simple until I get proficient enough at this stuff to make it work. I also need to figure out a good room mic to use.
