Awwww HELLZ YEA!!! Just recieved my tracking number from the dude. I should get the guitar on Friday!!!!

Man, I hope the dude packed it well. I'm kinda worried about it because it didn't come with a case. I stressed heavily in a couple of different email that he needed to bubble wrap the shit out of it and put enough packing material so that it does NOT move around at all in the box.

Nice. Those stock pickups?

I just picked up a black Epiphone LP standard. Traded my old Avatar regular g212h cab for it. I compared it to a couple Gibson LP's and the Epi played and sounded very close. The biggest difference being the pickups. I just ordered a duncan distortion for the bridge. Sounds killer now...should scream when i get that pickup installed.

Yeah, as far as I know they are stock. I don't think they are the usual epi pups though. I'll see how they sound and if a change out is necessary, I'll definitely be doing that.

YES!!! It was delivered to my work this morning!!! I'm going to pick that bitch up RIGHT NOW!!!!

You must have tried the wrong Gibsons or picked up an extraordinary Epi or ... I haven't played a single Epi LP that could compare to Gibsons, nowhere near the same league, I didn't even find it necessary to plug them in.

A friend of mine has an Epi. LP Custom that sounds and plays great. I'd easily put it in the same league with a Gibson. My old Epi. Explorer sounded great too actually. I prefer Burny's as far as LP copies go though.

Here's my review of the guitar:

Man, this guitar rips!!! It only took a few minutes to get used to the 3" longer neck. Plays smoothly and a NICE ass crunchy tone! I love the frets on this thing. I play very aggressively and press down pretty hard with my fretting hand. Not sure what size they are, I think medium frets, but they work out great for my playing style.

The only problem was the pickup switch had a hum when not playing when it was set in the bridge pup position. My room mate did some trouble shooting on it and we determined it was the switch because when he finally disconnected the switch and just wired in the bridge bucker the humming stopped. I bought a new switch and he'll install it for me tomorrow. The pickups on this thing are pretty good. Classic Alincos I beleive. I don't feel a dire need to change them out any time soon.

Anyhow, GREAT guitar! I'm glad I bought it. Excellent buy for $350!!!

BTW

Here is my Arctic White Epiphone Les Paul Baritone. Its actually a really sweet guitar I just dislike the color. I wish I could find the flat black model. I actually emailed the OP but he says he sold it... bummer...
