I was excited when I heard this was coming, saw the announcement yesterday. I have one in order from Sweetwater so should be here in a day or two.

This is really cool for me. I currently own a pair of H9’s and Micropitch is an always-on pedal. So buying this dedicated micropitch pedal will actually free up an H9 Max for other effects. Kind of like buying an H9 Max for $279.

Several years ago I sold my H9 Max because I only used the Micropitch and I thought it was a waste to have such an expensive pedal and only use 1 setting. Big mistake as I soon learned that NO ONE made a Micropitch pedal except a little cheap mooer or other brand that did not sound nearly as good. So I had to re-buy the H9’s to get a Micropitch back.

Anyone else use a Micropitch?

I started reading up and watching vids on this after my Luxe landed yesterday. Still haven't fired up the Luxe yet but I like the looks of the Micropitch. Detune and delay in one pedal that an idiot can use!

Thinking about selling a Boss DD-500 to fund the Eventide because I only use one delay patch on the Boss and I will never dig through the menus to learn how to work the thing.

Man I think I need one of these! I use the Poly Detune on my helix units all the time but it is WAY resource heavy.

Very interested in this....let me know how it is.

No, because this isn't 1985-1995 anymore and I also am not EVH.

Outside of that, what is the use? Regular chorus for the win if I want to go vintage. Sounds good though and reasonably priced.

For my use, I have it as a subtle widening, it just thickens everything up without adding mud or losing any aggression. It doesn’t overbear the sound.

Looks cool but I like to be able to set an actual exact amount of cents instead of just guessing with a knob just like the original Eventide Pitchfactor has.

I think you can with the editing software right?

So can someone tell me the advantage of this over the pitchfactor?

I found the Boss DD500 quite easy to navigate, there is a guy that gives a tutorial on setting up W/D/W delays ala EVH balance and it is quite good. Once I go it down it's pretty easy, I have been very happy with the quality of the delay models as well. I mostly use the SDE3000 and echoplex models they sound fantastic in my W/D/W setup.

I'm using two Boss PS-5 for my detune, the only issues is they detune a set amount of 5 cents so instead of 1 cent for FW tones and 9 cents for balance settings it is 10 cents. The quality of the detune is pretty good but I would imagine the Eventide pitchfactor would be better but I still haven't tried one out yet after all these years. I probably should the Boss DD500 was a great improvement over my two DD-3's in the same setup.

Good point. While I'm very picky about my chorus pedals and went through a whole bunch of them, aside from actually going for an 80's metal tone, the downside typically is that it neuters your drive tone a bit, making it lose some agression and punch.

That being said, wouldn't the Boss Waza DC-2 re-issue be of use for this? I remember playing an original DC-2 back in the day and it had this ever-so-subtle chorus, but widening sound.

Holy crap, I love mine! I've been on the hunt for something that fits a certain 'sound' in my head, and this is it. Got mine today and have had about 8 hours with it. In addition to all the wonderfully crazy stuff it can do, I'm finding that a simple mono detune, mono chorus, or mono delay with a touch of detune/modulation, and this thing sings. Love it, love it, love it...

If Eventide can do an analog chorus in the same vein as the Rose, Blackhole, and Micropitch, I'll snatch it up in a heartbeat. Holy crap thing is fun and sounds so good!

Very cool, FedEx says mine arrives tomorrow (Saturday)!!

The trick for this is to run the Chorus in parallel. Keep your drive tones, and just dial in enough Chorus for it to be noticeable without losing your core tone.

So that you know...
non of those three Eventide pedals is analog. They are ALL digital.

Wish this pedal would have been available years ago. I use the micropitch shift on my H9 a lot. I have been using the pitch shift as a part of my core tone for the last 25 years. I mix it in lightly, but I can definitely tell when it is not on. It allows me to thicken my tone and I find that it makes my sound more pleasing to my ears. Apparently I am not the only now who thinks so, because I have turned on a lot of my friends to the effect. Currently looking to add a second H9 to my board for additional effects that only Eventide seems to have.

Man if I played EVH stuff I'd get one in a heartbeat. I saw Pete Thorn's vid the other day and it was impressive. Totally had that Van Halen - Diver Down - Secrets sound.

I’m going to get one. I’ve always liked the sound of detune. I know EVH is pretty much synonymous with detune, but I think Mick Mars has a very good detune sound in his recent era live tone. It’s not as prominent as EVH, but it thickens the tone very nicely.
