Eventide Audio - Micropitch pedal

I did that just now. My Savage 60's fx-loop is typically at 100% wet, or serial, since I'm looking to minimize any timing issues when my fx-loop signal goes through a few digital pedals. Luckily for me, all 'dem pedals are true bypass.
I did have to crank the Levels of a few pedals with the loop at ~40% wet, and my TC Ditto (last pedal in the loop) still works, but with the level maxed and it ends up a hint lower in volume than I'd normally use for doing some rhythm recordings and then play lead over it.
So, still, very good advice :giggle: , but there are a few caveats.
It helps keep the core tone with just a bit of Chorus on top!

I currently have a desktop mixer in the loop of my amp, with all kinds of rack units and pedals running in aux loops in parallel in the mixer. It looks like a giant spiderweb mess, but it sounds great. Keep your core tone, and just layer in a bit of effects.

This is why the Rocktron rack effects units from the 90's are so popular for transparency. They basically do the same thing. Analog mixer stage with the digital effects in parallel. If I used all pedals, I would probably use a Boss LS-2 for this.

That’s really interesting. I never put a full mixer in the loop or post like that.

Same idea of what people did with racks back in the 80s and 90s. I am just using what I had laying around, because, well, it was free, lol. I would use a rack mixer or pedal mixer if I was making/buying a new rig to move around.

Then, good sir, I shall amend my first statement: If Eventide releases a chorus pedal similar in style to the Rose, Micropitch, and Blackhole, I'll land on it like a Sumo Wrestler. :)

I found the Boss DD500 quite easy to navigate, there is a guy that gives a tutorial on setting up W/D/W delays ala EVH balance and it is quite good. Once I go it down it's pretty easy, I have been very happy with the quality of the delay models as well. I mostly use the SDE3000 and echoplex models they sound fantastic in my W/D/W setup.

I'm using two Boss PS-5 for my detune, the only issues is they detune a set amount of 5 cents so instead of 1 cent for FW tones and 9 cents for balance settings it is 10 cents. The quality of the detune is pretty good but I would imagine the Eventide pitchfactor would be better but I still haven't tried one out yet after all these years. I probably should the Boss DD500 was a great improvement over my two DD-3's in the same setup.
I am using boss md500 with dd500. Amazing de-tune with the md500.

Yeah ACEV here on the board gets a really good detune with his MD500 as well I've though about it as well but I think I'm hung up on the Eventide name a bit, actually been wanting to try out a picthfactor for a long time...we'll see.

Was just messing with Boss MD500, I dont have an Eventide to compare it with :) One thing thats missing is some eq for the detune, it can make the low end a little flubby if your mix is high.

Quick clip with + - 8 cents detune:

I don't understand your comment.
I wanted to clarify what all those pedals are, in case you (or others) really thought they are analog.
Then you buy whatever you like. My reply was about correct information, nothing else.

That's a common practice people who know and understand how voltage correctly works.... have been using for decades.
It's also the only way one can use non-line levels devices, like all pedals are, in the best possible way as allowed by the mixer channels input gain trims and the consequent output boost set by the channels fader. It's still not ideal and actually far from it if you start processing multiple channels thru a pedal... but as I said... it's still the best way under specific conditions.
I started using mixers, LINE ones, in my systems in 1990 and in time switched from rack "gtr" mixers to desktop ones as they provide much better tone, amazing versatility in series/parallel routings, and much better signals handling thanks to versatility in voltages handling.
Nothing beats a line mixer at managing line level signals AND helping including some pedals....

I have a david bray box splitting my signal to my cab so that line level goes to my time based effect (dd500 & md500) which then goes to my stereo power amp out to wet cabs. There is an adjust knob on the bray box for volume mixing.

Yup. Information received, thank you. Don't care if they are analog or digital given how good they all sound so far. My original comment was that I hope Eventide releases an analog chorus, but that's probably not going to be the case. Given that if they do release a similarly formatted chorus (like the Micropitch, Rose, Blackhole), it's more than likely going to be great and probably digital so they can have lots of features like the other pedals. So, digital or not, I'm on it. No worries! I appreciate the info! :)
