I used to find myself knob twisting more than playing when owning rack prosessors,
I even got rid of the Strymon Timeline not once but twice because I feel stupid adding presets and total screwing around WAY to much.

Anything else in Strymons line up that deserves a listen?

The H9 is great. Easy to program if you use the iphone app. Good time to buy since people are dumping them for the h90

Yep.. if you use the app to program it its easy. The effects sound pretty good EXCEPT the verbs... They are pretty lackluster.

Just my opinion...they sound great but are overpriced. Better multi units can be had for less.

I have no experience at all but my buddy has one and absolutely loves it!

An h9 max with micro pitch and all the shit you get with one, the fact it's midi and easy to create with made it more worth while for me, for gigging. Has 12dbs of boost which is great for single channel amps and tons of other reasons. Has the pre post routing options, sick verbs and delays to be had. I always dug the fact it's so small and never had to touch anything on it due to the editing, which is available on a desktop or Bluetooth device. Set back is only 1 effect at a time, there are some that have delay, verb and chorus in 1 preset. Any Bluetooth device will program/write. ?

Mine has been awesome and very inspiring. I use it occasionally if I need a different take on something

Just take the mix and turn it down because Eventyde demos are always way too processed.

that’s a company that manages to re-package all the work that an employee did decades ago. Still cool to play with from time to time.

You'll see one,or two on almost every pros' board.Even still, with all the current modelers & boxes that have 2 bazillion effects w/ enough processing power to launch the space shuttle, eventide offers something that they just can't match.
You're gonna see a lot of h9s popping up fs now as the 90 starts to take over.So you might be able to nab one up for cheap.

I’ve had a pair for many years. I’m not a tinkerer, I like to set it and forget it. I use one with a micropitch always on and the other can be something else, usually a slight chorus effect. I think it really comes down to what do you want to do with it. If you like the old H3000 type effects, then it’s the best and cheapest way to get them. If you’re just looking for a delay/reverb type effect and don’t need any wacky endless shimmer type effect then you would do better with other units.

The appeal for many are all the Eventide algorithms that come with them where they have patches for specific sounds. Even though you can only play one patch at a time, that patch could have delay, reverb and chorus on it for example. So you’re playing multiple effects at a time.

I kept mine because for a very long time, until recently there was nothing I could find comparable to the Eventide micropitch.

2 effects for 900 bucks....... :hys:
I'm not defending the price cause that nuts for ANY pedal, but the h90 is supposed to have a better engine in it than the Eclipse. That and all the other options it has and it beats H3000 prices. I just hope they upped the verbs on this one.

2 effects for 900 bucks.......

Just for clarification, it’s 2 algorithms at a time. Each algorithm can have multiple effects.

Here’s an example of 1 patch/algorithm with delay, reverb and modulation:

I dig my H9 Max, no need for the H90. I find it limiting with only one effect, or their combinations. I don't use my H9 with guitar, I use it with my dual manual Vox Continental 61 stage keyboard, along with a UA Ruby pedal.

I'd use a H9 for gigs... sound wise it didn't cut if for me in the studio unfortunately. Eclipse is my go to there.

When you guys start talking about Bluetooth and apps in regard to an effects processor, I’m out. I don’t care how good it sounds.

There’s plenty of older multi effects units that sounded good and didn’t need all the new tech.

I’m thinking of getting a 2nd one to have unlimited processing. I’d like to figure out how to create that stupid spaceship sound that Tom Scholz has. I’d bet I can get close with the H9 along with my other gear. Or not.
