@RaceU4her have you tried putting some 5751 tubes in the positions dedicated to the red channel? This will bring down the gain range a bit, without neutering the tone and while the insanity is still there, it kicks in maybe after 13 or 14 'o clock on the gain knob of red and gives you some more classic rock/hard rock tone to work with at lower settings.
I don't know the 100W tube lay out, but in my 50W 6L6 it's V3 and V4.

I modded my OG 100 watter back when I had it. Kept it that way for a few weeks and then put it back to stock. I think the 5150 III line is the best bang for the buck amps on the market for rock and metal.
I love all the 5150s . They all are special

I’ve not, but I was wondering if there was a tube that tamed the gain a little so maybe ill give that a try

Do you replace both V3 and V4 with the 5751? I got to try this.

Yes, I replaced two of them. This helped s lot. Imagine the old gain range going from 0 to 10 (where 0 as already had too much gain for classic rock and past 4 or 5 you were in the over saturation zone)...with those tubes you sort of shifted it to -2 to 8, so to speak.

Definitely going to order me some and try it.
Description under those tubes on tube depot is spot on with what you're saying 👌

THIS! A 5751 in V1 spot made me Engl SE usable. I’m sure it would work for this amp as well.
