Now that the limited edition $20K Bumblebee has made its splash, I wonder if EVH products will release the Bee pickup and 1st-Gen style Floyd as stand-alone parts for purchase?

I love a non locking Floyd with a well prepped nut and locking tuner a-la Guthrie Govan, but I prefer the look of the 1st - Gen Floyd.

Seems like offering these - with a chunky markup, of course - would by right in the EVH gear wheelhouse.

Yeah EVH should do as many of the stand-alone parts as possible, I agree! There are enough of us guitar nerds out there that want this stuff.

I'm waiting for the bomb shell and the variac!! :)

The Variac is easy to find, almost any big electronic supply store will have them for sale. The bomb I can't help you with though, sorry. Although I DO have the Univox EC80 tape echo he used inside it to do the end of Eruption and I've seen a few for sale here and there over the years.

I think the original pickup in the Bee was a clear bobbin MightyMite. Jalen makes them now.

I've seen a double creme bobbin pickup in the Bee mostly, suggesting DiMarzio or MightyMite.

This was the first pickup I was introduced to from Jalen, looks and sounds great!

Yup - I’ve got a Jalen Bee, and I swapped the A-8 for an un-oriented, rough cast A-5. For my particular application, the A-8 was a little ‘hard’ sounding and the UO Rough A-5 was just perfect.

Good idea! the original Mighty Mite pickups were ceramic magnets, I might switch out to Alnico II next time..
