The guitarist is Frankie Lindia. He does a great job playing on EVH brand demos. I hope Pete Thorn demos these pickups on his channel.

Very cool video. A bit hard to hear the more subtle differences with so much gain and compression happening in the amp. Seems like the differences I these pickups would be easier to discern with a bit tighter sound and a bit less gain and squish. I can tell I’m getting older! In my ‘playing out’ daze - I’d have been all about the Plus version. Now I consistently prefer the Classic.

They sound cool, but I was disappointed that the same magnet types were used.

The later clips really demonstrate the superior clean-up of the lower output pickup. I thought the Plus was a distant third to the other two. The Classic cleaned up the best. Full up I liked both the Classic and Standard.

It kind of kills me that the Standard is the only pickup of those three that comes in single conductor format. Guess that means no parallel or split options with that one.

Classic or Standard for me. Classic with super high gain amps, and Standard with Plexi / JCM 800 types.

You can get that option through the Duncan Custom Shop, just not in regular gloss black. (They make the Frankie Standard pickup for EVH.) If you want that pickup in black it has to be aged black.

Jalen makes the standard Frankenstein pickup as well, trying one in my Charvel at the moment, 4 conductor and whatever color bobbins, at half the price of SD Custom shop! https://www.ebay.com/itm/401918695494

My vote goes for the Classic. I have a Duncan CS Frankenstein that I swapped in a weakened/degaussed A5 and it’s my favorite pup in an alder superstrat.

Very cool demo...The rhythm tones at the front end of that video are just wicked all all three sound great.
