What ya playing these days kurt? ;)

Dan

Actually waiting for my KN100V to get back from Mark but currently really diggin a Boogie Dual Rec Rackmount. I had it for sale in the classifieds but...Used it for 2 rehearsals and gonna keep it (For awhile..lol!)..I'm guessing it's true what's said about the rack version of these...They do sound and feel better..I'm not a fan of boogies at all but...this one..?? Go figure??? lol!!

I loved my rackmount recto, only reason I sold mine was the crappy effects loop, I am currently looking for a early one with a factory serial loop.

All you have to do is disconnect the green wire on the effects return jack and FOOBAM!! Serial loop

No good, you lose some functions on the amp, better to just find one with a factory serial loop.

Don't lose any functions that I'm aware of?? Do tell??

Sorry for the late reply just did not check this thread in a while.

Besides losing the one knob unless of course you move the orange wire over, the loop always stays on and even if you turn the knob down to zero it is never totally at zero.

I mean if it works fine for you then great but to me having an amp like that is unacceptable so I will just find one with a factory serial loop. They are not that rare.

You had a Suhr PT-100 too didn't you? Since they're both somehow Marshall based – any similarities/differences that stand out? I guess the CCV is more aggressive sounding than the PT-100?

I am interested in this as well... The CCV has really got me gassing, but I could just snatch a PT-100 and avoid long waiting times...

I've played them back to back; the CCV works better for me personally, but the PT is a great amp. I really dug it. I could easily see that being a better choice for for a different player.

At the end of the day, it always comes down to your requirements, and what you need to hear/feel in an amp, and the feature set you're looking for; if you've played a PT and dug it, grab it.

Post up the tonal changes when you move over to EL34's...if you ever got to el34's ;)

I liked the Gold Lion KT 77's better than the JJ KT 77's.

Did you like the 77's in your CCV or other amps? I thought they sounded good in a few of my amps. There is certainly some headroom improvement and some clarity. What I noticed though was some of the mid/upper improvement sacrificed some bottom end. On amps that do have plenty of low end to spare, they work well. For amps that lack bottom end, I didn't find the 77's to work as well.

Steve, you should buy your old CCV back! I dont know if you can afford it now!

I tried a few times, just for posterity's sake. Although, I figured someone would have beaten a back plate out of Mark by now or painted over the name! I have pretty much kept up with its travels. There's a GPS tracker planted in it

But, I wouldn't pay more for it than I originally bought it and sold it for - I drew the line there.....
