Exodus ‘89

Last night took me back. Probably 750 people in a club. Havok was better than I expected ( played with them twice back on their first two tours but haven’t liked anything since). Their new guitarist was playing a Peavey XXL and it sounded surprisingly good. Exodus flat out destroyed. One of the best pits I’ve seen in a long time. Nothing like the 80’ s pits but it was great to watch the youngsters get after it.

Bonded by Blood with the Legend Paul Baloff (RIP) is one of the top albums ever. Anything else with that Bon Scott wannabe or that Wwe wannabe is pitiful

Legendary and influential, and always loved Gary's tone and playing...But this band never really clicked with me, most on account of the vocals.
A lot of their later stuff I really got into like the Atrocity Exibition. I feel both the music and the vocals were a lot more aggressive but I'm also 44 so kind of missed their early days.

I love all of Exodus' stuff and really dig the Dukes-era stuff and him as their front man, especially live. Shovel Headed Kill Machine and The Atrocity Exhibition albums A & B...those albums rip - Beyond The Pale, Deathamphetamine, Iconoclasm, .44 Magnum Opus, Class Dismissed, The Ballad of Leonard and Charles...some great stuff during that era.

Exodus are hard to beat live, one of my all-time favorite bands to see live, never miss a show.

Huge Exodus fan, too. I also feel the Duke-era is superior. Excellent modern sound, greast band and great vocals.

"This ain't the Arsenio Hall show... DESTROY SOMETHING!"

Yeah, big Baloff fan here. :giggle:

Although, Duke was cool too. Probably 13 or 14 years ago I was at GMM festival when they played with Duke, went into the circle pit with a buddy of mine, Exodus started "Strike of the Beast" and damn near had a heart attack from the sheer intensity, thinking "crap, we ain't 20-somethings anymore"...:ROFLMAO:
