It goes without saying that Nuno is a bad ass. But, I don't get the hate for Gary - sounds great here. The rest of the band is ridiculously good as well... Chops-a-Plenty

Just surfing You Tube today looking for inspiration

Hadn't seen this one before - two of my favorites on the stage at the same time. They make runs on an acoustic look so effortless that it makes me want to park my Taylor...

I was on a Nuno kick a couple of weeks ago, and bought the first 4 Extreme cds. I had never heard Waiting For The Punchline before. That one kicks ass! They cut back the layering and psuedo-Queenisms, which sometimes worked/sometimes didn't. The other albums sound dated in comparison. Nuno is still great on those, but some of the vocals and themes are kinda corny.

As a live band, though? Forget it.....killer every time.

love extreme and nuno...hated most of punchline but I should give there last album a spin again

Imho Punchline has an amazing guitar sound.... Its been covered to death on various forums but think (iirc) a vibroverb maxed out with a RAT driving it.... It sounds ridiculous to my ears =)

Love Gary Cherone's voice, I may get strung up for saying this in here but he was the only tolerable VH vocalist for my personal tastes.

Man... Go look up the medley they did at the Freddy Mercury concert. That kicked serious ass!

I loved before Radio Gaga when Gary started copping the shit Freddie used to do vocally to get the crowd amped up.

If I could play/sound like anyone, It'd be Nuno. The whole band is wicked talented and I even enjoyed Gary's tenure in VH. He could dance like Dave and sing like Sammy.

Plus, the whole band can sing, write so it's great from a technical stand point.

I didn't know Gary was gay...whoa.
Did I miss him saying he was gay at the Mercury concert or something? I honestly don't remember that
Listen to what brian may says as he lntroduces them...

Why, because he said that they know what Queen is about?

Never directly directed at Gary and that can mean a plethora of things from musicianship, dynamics etc.

I've never gotten the fascination with Cherone's sexuality. Who gives a shit either way. Does it impact your life whether he's gay or not?

The same can be said about any gay person, who cares what they do, everyone should mind their own business.

Those guys just kicked some serious ass. Just a great extremely talented band. Man Gary had the crowd going too. I appreciate the music.

Gary has some new band now. I think the name is Hurtsmile.

He and his brother (guitar) are in the band.

Right now, Extreme is touring everywhere but the US doing Porno in its entirety.

Would love to see that...

I think Gary is a great frontman. Will see them in the US soon.

10 minutes of inspiration. I wore out my VHS of the original mtv broadcast playing that over and over. Gary did more justice to Hammer To Fall than most did with their turn to front Queen that day.

Dude! When and how?!
They're playing the M3 festival here in Maryland in May. I'll be there.

Nuno is probably my biggest influence. I have always dug his percussive rhythm technique, even when soloing. The guy has an awesome groove when he plays.

On another note, his signature N4 is probably my favorite of all my guitars, and I have many. I'm not a fan of signature gear but the N4 has the best aspect of each of my guitars rolled into one. Natural finish, ebony fretboard, reverse headstock, 1 knob, HH pu's, location of the pu switch and knob, small body, alder, light weight, perfect upper fret access, and just right neck thickness and profile. Also, the strings are high off the body compared to other super strats. Feels more like a LP. You can really dig in.
