Who do you know that uses a VH4 or a Herbie for blues/pop-rock? It seems to me most player use the VH4/Herbie for metal/hard rock....... and the Einstein for cleans/bluesy music.......

Matt Bellamy from Muse uses a VH4 - definitely wouldn't call them metal.

dont know any "famous" musicians (unless you count richie sambora and he used it alot on the new bon jovi album which is very country/pop rock) but im typing this from lakeside studios doing a country session with my herbert. they are far more versatile than people think.
peace

I'm in a cover band, which plays from pop to blues to classic rock - on a Herbert.

Of course I'm not famous :D

John Fogerty of CCR plays a VH4, his bandmate in CCR as well.

Crichton of Saga plays a VH4.

Neil Schon of Journey plays a VH4.

Nice!

hey Olaf.......would you happen to have a video of your band? or a clip?

I'd like to hear that Herbie :D

Lolz :D

Here's a mp4 video of some Doobie bros, clean with a Wah (you don't hear the other axeman)

. . . and a fully crapped Little Wing Solo - the other axeman plays the first (original) solo, so I can wank around . . .

recorded with a cheapo camera mic

and a clip with some leads and harmonizing

Well, you see, I'm not famous

Hehehe... really nice videos... You look really bored and restless while playing little wing solo :D:D:D.. really funny !!!

Btw, ane excuse me for hijacking the thread, but, I really LOVE the tone of the lead on the last mp3... Could you please post (or pm) the herbert settings you have on the solo ??? I would really love to try it :D.

Thanks for the videos and clip ;)

hey olaf, great vids.....nice playing man.

That Herbie sounds great! :D

Peter, what do you play? a VH4 or a Herbie?

You may not know them, depending on where you are located, but german bands Debbie Rockt! and Killerpilze play Herberts.

Hey Prof,

we need longer samples with improved sound quality.
Runter mit den Hosen ! Und lauf´ nicht so gelangweilt rum.
Little Wing mit Kanal 2 und dann mit Eiern bis zum Boden.
Mit starrem Blick in den Kosmos

Our demos have been remixed and mastered now.
I will post them soon.
But beware: I did some overdubs with one of my DIY amps :D

I don't get it.

1. they are not really that famous
2. they can`t play their own songs, so they have session-musicians who plays for them in the studio (and then using their own + a lot of different amps...).
3. anyways... they sound bad, so they are no good examples for such a good amplifier...

get it?

No, I don't. Because they don't fit your style of music they're not good examples? Oh ok...

As for not being famous: That really depends on who you ask. Arethe Smashing Pumpkins famous in the death metal crowd? Don't think so... Are Metallica famous in the classical crowd? You get my point, right?

Do you have proof that they don't play themselves? Cos when some of my friends saw both bands they seemed to play just fine live...it's not my kind of music so I didn't go, but they (my friends) are semi-pro musicians, and I'm pretty sure they can tell if the sound comes from the guys on stage...so unless you have proof, you need to be more careful with what you say.

They way I see it, they are signed artists and they play Herberts and Einsteins, giving the original poster another facette to look at soundwise.
