A few combo's I like and use:
vintage G12-65 + Vintage 30
G12K85 (or K100) + Vintage
vintage T75 (serifed font) + Vintage 30

I used the Creamback 65 + a V30 for a while, but I found the Creamback stiffer and more 'screamy/gurgly' than the thick 'n smooth sounding G12-65.

In the same cab, Vintage 30s and G12t75s or g12h30s. If separate cabs, g12t75s and greenbacks.

2x12 = V30/H100 (or K100) 100 on bottom

4x12s i tend to like X pattern H100/T75s .

Hey Junk Yard Dog, I don't think that there's anything wrong with the greenbacks other than they're much less efficient @ 96db, 4db less, than the V30's @100db 1w@1m. That's the same difference as a 50 v. 100 watt amp.

I use the efficiency mismatch to my advantage. I have a high efficient 1X12 wedge under my microphone stand and a low db speaker in my amp cabinet that I plug in to when necessary, I usually also go direct, either way. I never have a problem hearing my guitar, get great feedback and sustain and the sound guy loves the quiet stage level. (I use this at band practice also.)

I've had good results with the following combinations..

Creamback H75/v30s
Scumback J75/v30s
Celestion Alnico Cream/Creamback H75
Scumback M75/H75
Celestion K100/V30
All Fane F70
Scumback H75LDC/H55 in an oversized cab

I pretty much only do 2x12s; I don't play anywhere that 4x12s are practical.

For Vox-y amps, the classic Matchless mix (Greenback/V30, or the Emi equivalents GB12/V12) is hard to beat. For higher-gain/more modern sounding amps, I like a Emi Wizard/Governor mix. (The only downside is that the Wizard is noticeably louder than, well, everything...)

Would a K100/CL80 be odd?
I'm using that and it seems odd.
Gonna switch to Creambacks or go V30/K100 or CL80.

Aren't the redbacks sort-of celestion's version of an evm12l?
Not really. They're supposed to handle a lot of power but not have the stiff tone often associated with high-powered speakers.

Good. Maybe they are like a K with some centered mid-hump. That would be great.

I think it depends on the amp you're using.

For instance, my Diezel VH4 and VHX sound amazing thru V30s + G12K100s,
but my Engl Invader 2 sounds terrible through that combination.

My Engl sounds amazing thru G12T75 speakers, but my Diezels don't.
Go figure.

Oh for sure. I've came to the same conclusion over the years.

Aren't the redbacks sort-of celestion's version of an evm12l?
To me not at all!
EVM way more neutral and flat, articulate and clear. Redbacks way warmer... Sounds like a big greenback to me with a hint of UK V30. My favorite speaker!

Any recommendations for a 212 guys?
My one 212 is two Redbacks and love it.
I want my second 212 to be different.
I have some speakers lying around like a K-100, CL80 and UK V30.
I could also do Creambacks but maybe to close to my other 212.
May end up with another Redbacks and maybe a V30.

Celestion Alnico Cream mixed with Greebacks sounds like a weird combo for rock/metal but it sounds amazing. I put two of each in an old 1960a and it’s the best sounding cab at my jam spot. We’ve got 10 other 4x12’s, all sorts of Bogners, Marshall’s, Framus, etc with all sorts of speakers and this is my number 1 go to. I play dropped c metal through a Rev 2 Uberschall and this cab thumps and cuts better than anything else I’ve tried. Those alnico creams are no joke, they have a unique sound that’s great with high gain. I was worried about farting out while chugging but both speakers handle all the gain, bass, and volume I can throw at them.

Here are the combos and speaker cabs I have
Marshall 1960 A v30 h30 70th in x pattern 16 ohm
Ross 4x12 4 lnchbacks 50 watt 8ohm

Ubercarb v30 gt75 x pattern 16 ohm
Bogner slant all v30
Old carvin 4x12 75 cream backs bottom evh greenbacks top 8 ohm
Peavey vtm 4x12 85 watt Celestions 8ohm
4x12 marshall copy 4x12 gt75
MOJO tone 2x12 blues breaker style v30 cream back 75 16 ohm wired 8

Are the 2x12 v30 creamback 16 ohm speaker combos.
With my Helios the trace Elliot v30 greenback combo sounds amazing.
As stated different amps respond differently to different speakers.
It is a rabbit hole !
