What are some good cheap electric-acoustic guitars I should look into? By "cheap", I mean use your own definition of cheap. Just the lowest price one you can think of that is still good.

Also, do the same for electric bass guitars.

Thanks!

I've wanted a Yamaha silent guitar for a long time.
Love that modern minimalist look.
Built in verb and chorus.
Super easy to haul around and no mic needed, just plug it into anything.
Edit...what I think is cheap is anything under a grand.

I love vintage Ovations. The 70s to 80s era made in the USA Ovations sound and play great, have great electronics, and are usually sub $500 used. Just don't confuse them with the Chinese plastic crap of the 2000s.

USA made Ovations in general are fantastic. My 2000s Guitar Center one off is the best playing acoustic I've ever fondled, and it looks killer too!

How about an acoustic/electric bass...
Ibanez AEB5E. Cosmetically it's not much to look at. Basic black paint that looks like it was hastily slapped on. But it sounds surprisingly good. It's decently loud and rather punchy played acoustically. The Piezo pickup and EQ ain't half bad either. I have one and have been enjoying it. For $250 it's hard to beat.

Full disclosure, I'm thinking in the $250-$350 ballpark for both. Also, looking for natural finish on the acoustic

Edit: What about a Yamaha FX335C?

Get a solid top if you can. That range of Yamaha had them at one time. My buddy got one that was killer.
