Just had this happen. They marked my package delivered on Thursday, and then I did not get it until yesterday/Saturday.
Also it was delivered by some other rented truck, not a fedex truck. Not sure if the driver was even a fedex employee(?).

They’ll use rented trucks for different reasons. Suck they did that, I don’t think it’s acceptable to mark as delivered if not.

I know they're horrible, but they've managed to fuck up the last 4 things they've touched in under a month..

2 orders, (at work), one, they lost and damaged half of it, (over 6k worth of product for a customer. The second, was a Next Day Saturday Priority.. They claimed, "business closed, undeliverable". Its a Reddy Ice plant, one of the largest bagged Ice producers in the country, and a huge facility open 24-7, with multiple people foaming at the mouth waiting for this delivery for equipment that was down, costing them THOUSANDS per hour.. Fucking liars.. They never even attempted the delivery, based on the tracking locations..

Last week, I got a screaming deal on a Randall Thrasher 50.. LOST. "DELAYED", don't even know where it is..

Ordered a guitar on Tuesday, scheduled delivery yesterday.. It left NJ, went to NY, "DELAYED, BARCODE UNREADABLE", replaced, then to South Carolina, "DELAYED, BARCODE REPLACED", now it's in KANSAS CITY, "DELAYED".. I'm in Florida for fuck's sake! Geez, I know they suck, I know they've gotten bad, but man, they're just a downright pathetic joke. I should have followed my instincts and paid extra for 2-Day Air shipping.. Atleast it shows up, albeit 50/50 it's a day late.
Ups is not much better

Waiting on a guitar from Japan. Arrived to IN supposedly on the 12th. Called a couple of days ago as it wasn't budging. They said it's now in Memphis. Then get a notification yesterday they need more info to release it. OK, is it in transit or being held? Check description from seller and it's on the money. Start wondering if this is going to be a rosewood paperwork issue or something. Contact shipper and they haven't heard anything from FedEx. About to call FedEx again to see what they need and then get a notification it's cleared and in transit. But it's still showing Memphis since this morning but said it's est. delivery time, here in GA was end of day TODAY..lol. Per their site it's not even in my State.

whenever i get something delivered by UPS they always list it as "10-30am-1pm" delivery time and say they require a sig. Then on the day they're supposed to deliver it they change the time to "by 7pm". then it shows up between 9:45 and 10:05. always. then half the time they don't ask for a sig even when ive been waiting at the door. they just drop it on the porch and dip. but at least they're consistently late so i know what to expect...

i'm assuming, since they supposedly stop delivering at 10pm, im just the last guy on the route every time. its a sad state of affairs when the USPS has better game than the privateers.

This is why I don't order from Sweetwater.
They always use FedEx.

I don’t know man, USPS has gotten really bad over the past couple years. I have had so many packages get routed to the wrong place or just trapped in limbo for days and days. Add to that the base price of priority mail is now around $10 and it really sucks. I used to rely on it for shipping smaller items like pickups.

I believe it’s a regional problem as there are so many different opinions on which company is best/worst. And there are sub companies delivering as well making it even less personal and accountable for the parent company. I know most of the guys around my area for all the deliveries and I have no issues. However!!!When Christmas hits; all these different POS cars and trucks and “methy-purple hair” people start delivering because the system is overrun and they hire out knotheads to help deliver in the high time: like a pizza guy. My thought is probably wrong but the uptick in online purchase and delivery in the past 20 years has stretched these companies. Also, no one seems to be accountable anymore and they could care less anyway. Covid has allowed this to an extreme… you get what you get and like it… and don’t bitch because the AI computer ain’t listening.

They have all screwed me. They dropped an amp that I sold over the summer. Denied the claim at first. Then I got it approved. They sent the check to the wrong address. I had already refunded the buyer in full so at least they didn't have to deal with this shit. Everytime I call them its like groundhog day with them telling me they will get another check sent my way. Now they are saying they have to recover the original check before they can issue a new one and it will take 3 weeks!

Thankfully I was able to sell the amp as is but I only got half back. I only asked them to pay what I lost but once again I'm thinking I should have went the full amount cause fuck them. Same with the a modded Marshall I sold a few years back. I packed the hell out of it and they damaged the headshell. I just asked them to replace the headshell. Took like two months and I believe the owner of the UPS store refunded me out of pocket just to be done with it. I should have just asked for the entire amp cost there as well.

I agree there seems to be a regional aspect. Where I am UPS has actually always been great, but when I lived down in Atlanta they sucked. I didn’t have any real problems with FedEx until Covid.

The thing of weird people delivering FedEx stuff who seem like they shouldn’t be is what it’s like all the time here now.

Last year I had ordered an acoustic guitar and it was coming via FedEx, much to my chagrin. The day it was scheduled to show up I made sure to be home and I was on the lookout. I watched the vehicle pull up in front of my house and saw this fat, pink haired, “non-binary” looking motherfucker slough out of the driver’s seat. He dragged the box out and let it hit the ground like it was too heavy - it was an ACOUSTIC.

I could see the box already had damage to it and one of the ends had totally come open somehow. This guy stared at it for like half a minute like he didn’t know what to do and his body language and facial expression said he didn’t want to deal with it. He got a tape roll out of the truck and sloppily closed the box back up and proceeded to try and just leave it on the porch.

I opened the door and nicely asked if he wouldn’t mind waiting just a second while I made sure the guitar wasn’t damaged. He went all slump-shouldered and stared at me like I was just hassling him and said “Uhhhh…what??” I told him I saw that the box had come open and it was damaged and to just give me a minute to check it and he gave me some fucking attitude like “Okay??”

Fortunately because it shipped in a hard shell case it was fine but goddamn, I could not believe how shitty that whole encounter was. A lot of times now FedEx stuff gets delivered here by people in their personal vehicles and street clothes. Meanwhile UPS stuff is always delivered by one of two dudes who are super professional.

older folks tell me that the USPS is actually much more reliable than it used to be. which is hard to believe but as bad as UPS has been for me i have had better experiences, so far, with USPS and thats a sad state of affairs when UPS is getting out played by the govenment's equivalent of the team from "major league".

They’ve gone and lost a Gretsch I’d been trying to get a good deal on for years. Finally found one for a good price, ordered from Japan and it’s somehow been in Memphis for about a week now, “In Transit”. First hit the states in Indiana. Opened a case number but they can’t actually confirm where it is. I asked Ishibashi to open a claim on it. it’s my damn fault too. They offered DHL as well but FedEx was cheaper, so like an idiot I picked it.
