Right there with you! And Im usually way traditional.. But that guitar just looks cool IMO.

For $300 its a great guitar. At the end of the day, it won't unseat your Vigier. It will be a little different, but won't beat up a top dog. My "look elsewhere" had to do with the Lester type of sound - the Fernandes is a thinner sounding guitar. It's closer to a S-series Ibanez bassy superstrat sound without the chunk of a Les Paul.

For example -
My stable includes a RG470 that I just picked up on the cheap. The RG is a cool guitar, but I already have other guitars that do everything it does better. I'm planning on using it as a cheap stage guitar/backup. The Fernandes is in a similar boat (in my mind), only with a fixed bridge.

Wow, my experience with the Ravelle is completely opposite from yours. I can't even remotely see the comparison to an Ibanez S-series guitar.

It's easily the beefiest guitar I've ever played. Compared to my singer's LP Studio, it's no contest IMO. Of course, mine has an SD Custom in the bridge stock instead of a JB.
