I'm in too, would have bought it in a second. They are coming down in price it seems as the market here in the US begins to become saturated with them, finally.

Keeping in mind when they first hit the market they were $1800 here in the US.

I bought my first used one in 2008 for $1350.

Couple years later I bought a NAMM show left over new cab from Brad for $1100

Last one, GC wanted $800 for it and wouldn't budge. They also had a USA salt and pepper 412 RL and I got them to go $1350 for the pair, or $675 a piece.

What I realized once I got home that I thought was cool, is the latest one I bought from GC is serial 202. The first one I bought years ago is 201. Not important, but kind of fun.

Well I don't know if they're just growing on me or breaking in better because I play at stupid volume level without the band but I'm kinda diggin the k100's more. I was able to stand about 15ft in front of the cab and it was actually pretty damn nice and even, that big dust cap really spreads the high end. I still like the v30 break up and warmth though. I got four of them incoming so I'm going to try an x-pattern myself and see what's up. I can see why it might be nice to do. Far out the k100 is much nicer. They definitely didn't sound as good in my older Diezel cab.

I like the mix of the V30's and the K100's. I've been using a full stack with the cab with V30's on the bottom and the cab with K100's on top. I like it a lot!!
Actually, I've been playing around with the K100 cab by itself recently...just trying guitars and amps with it. My experience is it DOES sound different, and yet it also does grow on you. I have been really liking the tones coming out of the cab, only K100's. Play for more than 20 min. I think my ears adjust or whatever and I enjoy the sounds more.

I would enjoy hearing an update when you have your X-pattern going and have a chance to play with it a while. Good luck!!

I'm a big fan of X-pattern cabs. Had a Marshall 1960 that I swapped two of the T75's for V30's, which made it Uberkab specs. Had the cut of the V30's but the T75's mellowed out some of the harsh spike. One of my current Zilla's has a V30/K100 combo which works really well for low tunings. Definition from the V30 and big tight low end from the K100.

I tried the x-pattern. I still prefer the full v30 setup though. It was nice though admittedly. There just a "smooth snarl"(the break up) while still being fairly tight that is just where I'm at home. I have a few songs in the band that if that's not in there it just sounds "off". We're metal but still have a more hard rock flavor to our choruses. All out metal the g12k's are definitely a good speaker for though. We do have a lot of metal riffing but I use so much mids I don't need the extra clarity. That's why you always have to try for yourself. If what works for you wont work for someone else always... Ya know!

Celestions website says that the v30 is its clearest speaker but I couldn't feel that any farther from reality. That g12k is much more clear
