It's on low bedroom levels. I live in a condo so I can't turn the amps up. This amp is by far the best sound I've heard on these kind of volume levels. But it's part of the design of the amp. Cranked plexi tone on any kind of volume level.

If you want to know something just let me know. I'll try to translate it for you.

Im just amazed that an amp can get that amazing cranked plexi tone at low volumes.. Tommy really knows what hes doing!!

Thanks alot, id definitly appreciate the translation from ya. Il go on his site later and find the part i needed translating, if thats cool :)

Do his mods vary much in sound? i know Mark Cameron's mods can vary (not in a bad way), as can old Jose Arredondo mods too.. just wondered if most of Tommy's stuff is voiced the same? (like if i was to send Tommy my 2204, would it sound very close to yours?)

No problem, just let me know what you want to know.

I haven't tried any other Folkesson Marshalls than these two so I can't really say. These two are different but they have been modded very differently so it's no surprise. The JMP has been redone completely and the 6100 is just tweaked on all channels. They are in the same ballpark soundwise, you can tell what sound Tommy is aiming for by playing these two but there are differences for sure.

If you send yours to Tommy you'll probably get the latest version of his mod, mkIVC. Mine is an old mkIIB version so it's different. I don't know if Tommy does his older mods. I do know that he can tweak the mods to your preference so I'm sure he can do something similar at least.

Yeah that makes sense, im sure he can tweak it to however i like!

The tone i love is Harry Cody's Folkesson modded Marshall tone on the Second Coming album. That will have been one of his older mods im sure, but il bet he can still voice it that way no problem.

Does the amp feel gainy and easy to play? or is it one of those tighter feeling, unforgiving amps thats harder to play? I'v owned 2 Mark Cameron modded JMP's, one was very liquidy sorta gain that felt very easy to play when soloing... and one is much tighter feeling and more unforgiving when soloing.

On another note, I think that you should post that other clip you did of the folkesson mod! That Sounded killer as does the tone on the video!!
I think Dan will love the tone!!

I don't know which version Harry Cody had but it was an early one for sure. I can get very similar tones with my JMP so it can't be far off.

It's easy to play. It has a switch on the back that lets you choose how the amp responds. I prefer the tight setting. Makes the amp easy to control. Not too loose for rhythm and not too tight for soloing.

That is VERY good to know! The important thing for me is that it feels easy to shred on  I like it to feel good, but also have good control. Sounds like a Folkesson mod may be the way to go!

You'll have to check it out. I'm sure it sounds great. His looks to be an even older version than mine. Might be something like Kee Marcello used but I'm just guessing.

I don't think those clips are up on the server anymore. I'll upload them tomorrow. They are on a different computer right now.

Just for reference the JMP is the only amp I don't use a boost pedal with. With all my other amps a prefer a boost pedal as a slight signal boost but most importantly as an eq to tighten up the sound. The JMP doesn't need it because the tightness is there but it's still loose enough to let the notes bloom which is very cool. It's hard to describe because it's so different from other amps.

I found a couple clips. I think there are more hiding somewhere. I'll keep looking.

Those clips sound great .
I like the first one the best second was a little muddy to me but great.

I am taking my Folkesson to my amp tech for a retube and bias.
I want to make sure everything is right before selling.
