Fortin Cali Scumback clip. A few VH style riffs.

I've never tried to do a VH clip and i don't know how to play many of the songs but i played a few bits and pieces of what i know. I tried to get close to an old VH sound but i know i have to tweak more to get it closer. The hard part is taming the Cali mod, i had the gains on 2.5!!!!!!!!!! This is on a Scumback M75 and the volume is barely on. Seriously, it's very low volume.


 
That sounded awesome Dan! Seriously, you could have fooled me that you never played VH riffs. Did you use the Cobra for this clip? What did you use for the reverb?
 
That was with the gain on 2.5?! That thing must have a crazy amount of gain. :rock: Sounded great Dan. Great playing too. :yes:

Thanks, i actually pulled up some YouTube videos of VH songs and played along with a few of the VH riffs that i like. That's the drop top and the reverb is from Sonar. 1 track panned left is dry and the second track panned right has the reverb.

The gains were set low but i had the bright switches under each gain set to the left. I tried leaving 1 bright switch off which does lower the gain but then it sounded too woofy. But when i made a few clips with my normal settings then i listened back, then listened to some VH, i was like WOW! Eddie really never used a lot of gain.

Thanks. I know there's a lot of guys here who kick ass at playing VH, I'm not one of them, but i wanted to see if i could get in the ballpark.

The playing is great Danny. Add in a bit more high end and scoop out your mids some and you are there in the tone dept. too!

That gain was only on 2.5, how much overall gain does the Cali Mod have? I would LOVE to play one of those amps...
