Fortin Evil Pumpkin

Just trying to gauge thoughts/feelings on this amp via anyone who bought one. I ended up caving and getting one annd…… didn’t really vibe with it. I ended up selling mine and am happier for it but I’ve always wondered if there was something I missed. I spend hours if not cumulative days trying to dial this thing in for my tastes and just couldn’t dial the Fortin flavor out of it? Haha. I know the negative connotation that comes with the brand due to their shady beginnings as well as the drama around the Sigil but all in all the QA/QC wasn’t bad I didn’t think - just the sound. Thoughts?

I don't understand what you're saying. You bought a Fortin and sold it because you couldn't get it to sound like NOT a Fortin?

Either way, selling it was probably the right move if you didn't like it...
Yeah, again, didn’t know what to expect. Expected the best but was sadly disappointed. $4k loss is firmly in the books and lesson learned lol.

Did you try any of the neural dsp plugins before buying? I know everyone around here slams plugins, but fuck they’re really close.
I really liked the NATAS but hadn’t tried the others. I too am a plugin fan and think they’re great for what they offer, especially in a studio setting.

I wanted one pretty bad when first announced. Over time I lost all interest. During that long wait I acquired a Cali and was pretty disappointed. It wasn't horrible by any means but it took way to much work to get my sound out of it and that sound wasn't a $3200 sound.

Would put the Uberschall up against it any day based off the info I have which does not include actually playing an Evil Pumpkin.

Just too expensive considering what else is out there for the same price.

Happy to see someone had a similar interest and unfortunately similar experience to mine. 👍

I think Jason is awesome. Seems super cool, monster player and would love to support any of his products. I would still like to try one but idk. Being a poor man, at that cost I'd rather cough up the extra 1k for a wizard
