Fractal Virtual Pedalboard (VP4)

Nah. It's actually the opposite, it's super light to add one built into a unit. super heavy and awkward to hook one up. Helix and Pod Go were just two great examples of an ultra light and super durable yet high quality expression pedal built into a unit. It's not breaking off, it's not going anywhere. It looks right and there are custom cases you can buy to fit it properly. Sounds more like we are trying desperately to justify not having one built in.

Now, lugging on a pedal to hook up to a multi fx unit is where things add weight, awkwardness and a whole other power supply.... It's a no brainer.

Expression pedals dont take any power, and you can get something super small and light, like a Roland EV-5.

I also dont like the way whole unit rocks when using a built in pedal.

I like the freedom to put an expression pedal wherever I want on my board. I adjust expression pedals with my right foot, and if my effects unit is on the left side of my board, I don't want to be forced to adjust it by having to use my right foot on the left side of my board. I don't want to have to put the unit on the right side of my board, especially if I'm using it for post-effects.

Also if I don't want to use an expression pedal with it at all, I don't have to have one on my board taking up space.

Or if I already have an expression pedal for something else on the right side of my board, I want the freedom to put the VP4 expression pedal next to it, while the VP4 itself is on the right side of my board.

I also want to be able to use the expression pedal of my choice rather than being forced into whatever Fractal might have attached to it.

Higher quality expression pedals that also function as wah/volume pedals do require power.

Treadle is adjustable on built in expression pedals just as any seperate expression/wah/volume pedal
