I'm guessing that people assume you're going to give away something more desirable, in the future, and don't want to hear the "BUT YOU ALREADY GOT SOMETHING" comments and hate
They won't get hate from me, as it's encouraged in the contest rules. Members who enter any contest will be awarded points toward future contests that include guitars. Mainly for tie breakers, but I have other thoughts as well to include as many people as possible with prizes at the end. If it helps; those future contests include pedals, and even guitars made in Japan and the US. I'm really just trying to clean house, tbh. Thought this would be a fun way of doing it. Craigslist free section is looking better by the minute, though :ROFLMAO:

I happen to know that's not true!

Alright, when I get home from work I'll enter, you've convinced me!

I just have to try to think of something nice to say about humanity, which is going to be difficult.

I figure theres people that need em worse than me. I have a guitar to put em in however I also have a bunch of guitars that work fine. Give em to someone who needs em.

Awright with those statements you’ve convinced me. RT has always been cool like this and it’s been awhile since I cleaned house too; was just talking to a buddy of mine about how much gear we’ve collected over the last 5 years since we both did a giveaway and it’s massive.

I think at 49 as far as humanity goes there’s a lot of hope.

Another friend of mine runs an animal sanctuary out in Washington; I posted a link to it when he bitched about $ a while back and a bunch of guys I know that really couldn’t afford to do so donated a LOT of $, just because they’re good people.

I think in the end, people are more good than bad. We all struggle, and a lot of the times selfishness outweighs the greater good.

But, when push comes to shove most people are good and if we can get to a point where we ignore that selfish part, I think humanity can rise to heights we never believed we could.

Pic of the guitar I’d throw these in:

This is a 2010 custom I had done that I’ve pretty much stopped playing because I went active a few years ago on my other guitars. This has a set of PRS McCarty pickups in it and they’re just not my jam anymore.

Anyway, hopefully somebody that needs these gets them (as far as anyone NEEDING guitar pickups goes lol) but it’s fun to participate and I thought it was weird that you basically said ‘have free shit for a picture’ and nobody bothered.

That’s fuckin weird to me 🤣🤣🤣

Can’t wait to see the rest of this stuff, hope people join in.

Don't get discouraged, I would have taken them personally but I just don't have a guitar to put them in.

I'm sitting out because I think there are people who need gear more than I do.
Having said that - this is a great gesture by you. Thanks!

I was kinda hoping some younger bro that just needed a badass upgrade to his guitar with shit pickups would come along and take her up on it. Like if you had a shittier RG or something and played metal, pay someone a few bucks to throw these in and that's a major upgrade.

Agreed.

Dunno if there are a lot of guys like that here though.

Hey Lisa,

First, thank you for doing such a cool thing! Since there's a vacuum I'll play. I empathize with the feeling that sometimes you just have to clean house. Here’s a picture of the guitar I’d put them in. It’s a new LTD ’87 series Rainbow Crackle I recently picked up. Love the finish!! …however, the passives that came in it are a bit low output for my taste, and I’m generally an EMG / metal guy, so this would be a solid upgrade for the new axe. Hell, I’d do something similarly cool with the take-outs just to pay it forward.

The nicest thing I would have to say about humanity is that in a crisis, humans have the ability to put aside their differences, pull together & work for the common good. Think about it- under normal circumstances when there is no significant stressor present, people (very generally speaking) have a tendency to group up, look for commonalities and use their differences as a way to keep their wagons circled.

This all changes in the event of a crisis- and it’s proportional to the magnitude of the situation. For example, generally speaking there is a lot of squabbling within the borders of any given country based on the divisions created by all sorts of socioeconomic classes. However, if one country were to attack another in a Red Dawn situation, humans can quickly come together for a common goal and/or against a common threat. To take this a step further, I do believe that if aliens were to attack earth in an Independence Day kind of way, humans would quickly & decisively put aside their differences to defend what they all have in common.

To sum it up, despite all of the petty to significant struggles that humans endure at the sake of each other, there will always be a common bond of humanity that can naturally be called to rise in the face of collective danger.

Jeremy
