Got a KS modded Metro-Plexi that Dave did for me years ago that is used on every project we do. If your a single channel and vol knob guy, it is hard not to love ;) It cleans up amazingly well, even with a ton of gain. I've never had a problem with it, and I've put literally hundreds of hours on it. My Metro has a dual-output tranny in it, I usually run it in the variac (lower voltage) position for just a smidge more give.

Thanks everyone. For the most part everyone seems very happy with Dave's work

BE - Didn't care for it.

Small Box - Loved it but sold it TWICE b/c I thought the BE for my purposes was better. I was incorrect.

And I was happy to adopt your BE and it's working great for me... :D
My two Mesa's are sitting idle. ;)

Dave Friedman is an amp guru and all around class act.

Very expensive tone for what you get in return...2 channels?

Anyone else read this sentence again, thinking you missed something?

I have a schem/layout of the Smallbox. I made the BE/drive channel of the SB to exact specs minus the plexi channel and in 100 watts. Damn good sounding amp Dave has got there. Really simple but effective. He has a fixed depth/bass boost and I ended up making it variable with a depth control and a 3 way bright switch but IMO it doesn't need the bright switch, sounds perfect without it like Dave's original design. Great sounding amp for sure, I may have to pick one up some time.

Really happy! Love my BE-100 ... I have George Metro built one with separate BE/HBE inputs and simple clean.
Sold all my other amps and only kept BE. Only other amp I recently got is a Mesa Mark V combo for smaller gigs.

I borrowed a BE100 for a decent amount of time. Great amp, but not really my style(I'm not a Marshall kinda guy). Bought a Naked(prior to JJ production), this amp fit me tone-wise a lot better. But damn it was incredibly loud. It sounded ok at reasonable levels, but it CRUSHED at loud volumes. We rehearse pretty loud too, but I just couldn't get where I wanted to be and get the tone I heard when it was ungodly loud outta my head. I felt the Naked was significantly louder than the BE100(at least between 6 & 10:00 on the master). The JJ probably would be right up my alley and fit me best but it's just more than I want to pay for an amp. I try to have a back up for gigs too, so that's pretty big $.
