Friedman Amps are Class Acts.

when my now 30 yr old son was just a toddler in diapers, i took him with me to Dave’s Rack Systems office at Andy Brauer’s rental house to try to track down a noise issue in my triaxis rig.

after an hour of opening up triaxis and diagnosing the problem and offering some solutions and mods to try, i asked what i owed him for taking the time to consult with me.

he looked at my son and said don’t worry about it—just buy him some extra diapers or formula.

i’ll always remember his kind thoughtful gesture and bring this story up when the subject of his character is discussed.
and as i was rolling my rig out of his office with my son pretending to push with me, Steve Lukather was walking in and patted my son in the head and said “cool little roadie dude!”

at the time i was using a Rivera TBR-1 as my stereo power amp and Luke was with Rivera during his siggy Bonehead/Los Lobottom sub cab era, so he pointed to my rig, whipered “Rivera” with a fist pump.

I once emailed him about a MTS module he was involved in designing years ago. Randall sometimes messed up his designs, so there were "faulty" modules floating the market. I asked some kinda specific questions about cap values etc and actually did not expect any answer at all. Within a day he answered "Fuck man, I don`t know anymore!"
Hehe, his answer made me chuckle :D

Like I said, it was like 10 years ago that he was briefly involved in designing a product outside of his main amp line, so there were no expectations on my side. But the honest way he responded gave me a brief smile.

Dave could have stopped expanding the business and just make the BE100, etc., but he kept listening and started pedals, cabs, and other goodies.

He was the first guy to convince me that El84 amps can rock. I'd love to see some El34s in thos small amps though.

Yep, nothing but great experiences here too. Hats off to Dave - to build a great product is one thing, to build a great business another, but to do all of that whilst remaining down to earth and treating customers so well seems to be a rare thing in the music instrument game
