FRIEDMAN SMALL BOX | And compared to a Marshall 1987X & JCM800 2203

I would go with the Small Box over the DS. I am biased because after many years of playing and many amps, my Friedman Small Box 50 head is still my all time favorite and that has not changed in all years I have owned it.

I will likely buy both... each with a 4x12. Run them back to back on a custom dolly... then rotate it when I want to use one or the other. Been wanting to do that for years now.

Why? Some might ask..... just because I can... why be ordinary when you can be fucking extraordinary

Anything that isn’t an 800 is always meh!
Still the king of kings.

The Smallbox was the best Friedman variant I've owned. I really didn't use the Plexi channel, but the high gain channel was just perfect. More raw than the BE, IMO. Closer to a traditional Marshall, polished, but still a bit more aggressive.

I really think that dolly needs to have a motor and spin like a rotary rig from hell. That would truly be fucking extraordinary.
