This is an idea I am working on for a project I am doing with some guys, no guitars yet and this is just a scratch pad type thingie right now. I just wanted to show some people how easy it is to get up and running with FL and all samples are from the sample pack. There are better drum samples than this and during the export my synth work at the end turned out too low for some reason

If you are looking for a program to get your ideas together this is a great option.

Of course, I know nothing about recording software and am just now researching which I'm going to get, but I have a buddy who recorded his whole cd with fruity and I'm very surprised how good it sounds.

Download the trial version and give it a try Pete, after some button pushing it starts to come together. It is a very powerful program, I learn stuff everyday!

How hard is it to program synth stuff like that? How exactly do you go about doing that?

So, the coffee hasn't kicked in yet, and I'm draggin' in a little behind... I TOTALLY thought the title read "Fruit Loops Scratch-n-Sniff Idea", my response in my current state, "F**kin' A!".

:D

Sounds good Scott.

It is just pushing squares to trigger samples....it is that easy.

Of course then you have 678068060 options, effects, etc. The bass in the beginning was totally re-worked with chorus and verb added through buses.

That sounded pretty good. Ive never used Fruity Loops although Im guessing Garageband is basically a rip off (or vice versa) of it?

That was entertaining. Post it when you get some geetars and stuff on there too... Would be cool to hear where this is going since I already have it planned out in my own head...

Sounds pretty easy. Do you know of any programs that are strictly for synth stuff? I'm not interested in programming drums or anything, I just want something I can mess around with some synth stuff.

I have no idea which came first, Ralph gave me a demo once and I knew it had to be mine.

Fruity Loops is more centered on sequencing, instead of trying to be an all-in-one product... at least the version I have. And, that's no hate for GarageBand, good product, GREAT product to include standard on machines.

Steve

Beginning clean verb'd to hell with chorus

middle a ride the low E with diminished chords moving down from E

End is Low E to double octave D type chord

Sounds good Scott, did you use a VST plugin for the synth?

Everytime I try to download Fruity Loops I always end up getting "FL Studio" and I'm not sure if it's the same thing, havne't had the patience to try to work with it yet

Cool. How about time changes? Is easy to switch from a 4/4, to a 5/4, to 17/8? If so, I'll be trying fl first.

Interesting. I ask because it sounds like some shit Id throw together in garageband. :D

The synth patches in garageband are pretty cool too. Ive actually been thinking about buying more loops for garageband, but if Im not sure if I should buy them from apple, or just try and find free ones online? There has got to be a free source of loops for garageband somewhere on teh intranetz right? :D

It is cool just for synth work as well, a ton of samples plus several VST plug-ins like Stytrus. Tesseract has a demo on it, off the charts.

FL Studio = Fruity Loops :) I have Producer which had more VST instruments.

Everything you hear is FL and the Synth was just a sample triggered :)

I have no Idea Pete, maybe someone else can answer that one.
