Just wanted to give you guys a heads up that a Cameron modded 1987x is coming up on the blocks...

This amp was purchased new and sent directly to Mark in the original, unopened box...Mark worked this over with a combo of the Aldrich / Ocean Mod. Amp looks stock from the front with the exception that he used the hole where the jewel light is for the MV pot.

Current owner purchased it from me, I was not the original owner . This amp is in dead mint, spotless condition. Jason Wallis has played it as well. Simply put, this amp is freaking brutal in terms of available gain...Mark has verified all work done to this amp.

Current owner is not a member here or on any message board for that matter (is that possible  ) , I told him I would help with getting the word out. He's not settled on a price yet and is emailing me current pictures this weekend. Current owner is also a good friends of Jason Wallis, Jason can tell you all about the amp as well.

I'll post up the pictures and price when he sends everything over and put everybody in touch when the time comes. Just to answer up front the proverbial "if it's so great why is he selling it?" question - he owns another Jose modded Cameron and a staggering collection of other stuff, he's o.k. letting somebody else have a go with this one ;)

So whats the deal with this? Is it for sale?

Yep, its for sale - but I've still not got the pictures sent to me to post or a confirmed price...sorry bout' the pre hype hype....

Update - dude has sorta lagged on getting me photos...

Amp is still available, and he wants to sell it. He owns / runs Seaside Music in Seaside, Or. I would suggest calling him direct.

(503) 738-9822 Ask for Rob, tell him Steve E. sent you.

Finally the long awaited pictures...as you can see it's super clean. Mark used the jewel light location for the master so he wouldn't have to drill any chassis holes..

Mark used the jewel light position on 2 of my old Camerons instead of using one of the inputs. I preferred it this way. I'm not saying I can tell this is a Cameron, just saying.

I know velcro fly is golden though as far as trustability.

Thanks Curt and no worries Capulin ;) I bought the amp from a very trusted source and then discussed it at length with Mark. Mark described it in detail - also confirmed some things about the guts before I ever brought them up. Re: guts - this predated the goop, but not Mark's common sense to scratch some values off of resistors. The rest of the tell tale Cameron stuff is there. The last thing I'm ever going to do is misrepresent a piece of gear. I bought it knowing what it was and traded it to Rob to help pay off my D13 rig he hooked me up with. Pretty simple deal really. The amp is in Rob's possesion at this point, I'm just trying to help him out.

Thanks ~

Hey guys, this is a legit Cameron. I bought it from the original owner and then sold it to Steve. It's the real deal.

I don't know man...it doesn't have chicken head knobs...the Cameron Experts are saying without those it can't be real

 Well I tell ya guys, the more I think about this, I could buy this undercover cameron modded marshall plexi. I could then take a little sit in gig for anyone of these southern rock/ country rock bands looking to liven up there week-end shows. And then after behaving myself with the gain probably turned all the way off and more. CUT LOOSE, I bet you anything they would TRIPP OUT! Especially if the beer had been flowing long enough. NEVER knew what hit them! :gethim:   They would go home and talk about the guy with the violent tone for months! LOL! :D

 Story of my life. I called Rob today to tell him I was sending him the money, as We had talked friday nite. Turns out someone else has spoken for this amp. But if they don't pay by tonite then Rob say's I win. But for now it's , blued and screwed for me. Oh well, maybe I will get the next plexi cameron. Footnote....I GOTTA GET ONE OF THESE DARN THINGS!

 I just wanted to stop in and give a public nod of approval to Jason, Velcro fly, Rob at Seaside music, and Mark Cameron for being honest and helpful as far as this amp goes. I ended up getting to buy this amp and I tried it out this morning at work at the office for about 35 minutes. I keep a vintage marshall 4-12 cab witn v-30's there, since that cab does not fit into my already over crowded studio . So, I still need to figure out alot, but, Channel 1 on the top input is a marshall plexi for sure. The bottom 2 channel inputs don't work at all, I assume they were dis-connected by Mark. He called me at work Thursday afternoon, but I was closed to attend my friends Mom's funeral. Hope to talk to Mark soon. But hey Mark tried like hell to speak to me and give me info. He left me a couple of messsages on the amp. Thanks Dude! So The top channel input for channel 2, YEAH! :D There it is. This is where ya go for A HELL OF ALOT OF GAIN. Like I said, I need to spend a good bit more time with this amp, but it does some CRAZY SERIOUS GAIN PRODUCTION. :worship: I thought that the extra control at the original jewel light spot was a contour control for the bottom end?? Or the ocean mod control atleast that is what it seemed to change for the brief few minutes I screwed with it. I think the gain control was the far right volume control. ??? I had to leave it at work until tomorrow so I don't have it here to look at for any visuals. Hey in closing I WANT TO ONCE AGAIN THANK ALL THESE GUYS, I BOUGHT THIS AMP, IT CAME IN THE CONDITION COSMETICALLY THEY SAID IT WAS AND OR WOULD AND IT ACTUALLY WORKS AND FUNCTIONS. Now I got to work with it and dial it in and I will be able to know and experience what a select few of you guys already know. MARK'S WORK IS INCREDIBLE! that I already know from just 35 MINUTES! Thanks guys! Now I wait for amp number two! TICK TOCK! :rawk:
