These tubes are killer in Uberschalls, Mark IV/Vs, and Rectifiers.

Doug's say to avoid V1 with these. Your thoughts?
Perhaps use a TAD and these down the rest of the line?

I don't agree with Doug's statement about not putting them in V1. In fact I think it's contradictory—"high grade" tubes would be best suited for sensitive positions.

I've got these in all positions of two amps (Mesa Dual Rectifier and Mark IV) which I run with pretty high gain and they're not noisy at all. Mesa Boogie used them exclusively in the late 80s/early 90s for all their preamp tubes (they even had a 12AT7 version) so I really doubt they aren't suited for V1. Mike Morin also recommends them for all positions, and he knows high gain circuits as well as anyone.

Fantastic tubes, in fact the best, in my opinion, for high gain amplifiers... V1, V2, V3, V4, V5, V6… put them anywhere!
