Oh that sounds killer, I really like their stuff. I got the Pdeq to mess around with, and it's fun to use with amps that don't have a presence and/or depth. I like what it does, simpler and more transparent than the eq's I've used. I wish I saw that go up for sale, that sounds killer, lol. I try the multi route every few years, but always end up wanting to mess around with particular pedals. Granted, nothing like the FX8 though.
That's sort of the situation I was in. I had a couple of pedals, worked great for me. Then I wanted to experiment with another effect, etc..

at the time, the FX8 was the "cheapest" option that provided me what I needed effect wise + a bit more. Over the years I've actually consolidated more and more into the FX8. Aside from the Polytune 3 mini tuner, everything else pre/post effects come from the FX8. This includes Wah, whammy, delay, chorus, Boost, noise gate, even pitch shift to detune my guitar to 1/2 step down.

However, I do miss at times having the simple rig of guitar (1 or 2 pedals) and then amp.

hehe, be careful what you wish for. Simple gets complicated real quick. I've got pedals clinging onto my board for dear life, since there is no room left.
