Tbh, the only reason i think about superstrats and explorers is playing seated. I do that a lot more when recording. Just cuz it is easier to start tracks.

But playing standing, the v is glorious

I was thinking volume placement, but then i thought about number of pickups.....

Would love for this to end up with a single humbucker and volume.
Feel like it would be pretty clean looking.
Even better, no volume either.
Straight to the output jack.
Chugg Norris Approved.

I saw that, too.
Not sure what triggered him.
I was giving him an opportunity while trying to stay neutral and out of the decision.
Haven't bent the rules yet, not going to start for rando kid.
That's what read as your response to The Child. If those in the same category were fine with it he could enter. Not sure what would have set him off or where he got all the ass kissing stuff from. Guess some people don't know how to act.

I wouldn't have had cared one way or the other if he was allowed to enter if everyone was cool with it. But he had to get butthurt and pitch a fit. Now it's...

Imagine we haven't met, but I show up to your house party and drink all of your beer and then take issue with you seeing it as abnormal. No one asked you to kiss anyone's ass, just that I'm not changing the rules because some rando wants in, so told you to make friends and get their approval since they're the ones you would be competing with. You only needed to read the OP to understand this is a giveaway for members who have contributed to the site over the years and that this isn't a public giveaway.
Right on well being honest reading your "rules" they aren't really that clear....... hence I asked..... I get not everyone is welcomed to the party and it's only for long standing members and that's cool.....

Wouldn't want you to change the rules for me or anyone in that case.

In any case good luck to all those who enter, good luck to you and may the guitar go to a well deserving member on the forum who deserves it. I think it's pretty cool and a nice thing to do either way.

Hey Kid - she's not asking you to kiss her ass. She's giving you a chance because as of this morning, you only had 27 posts here at R-T, and in most people's eyes - was mostly spam. So even though you say you don't care about the Give-away, it seemed apparent that you did. :dunno:

So instead of being the new cool kid to join Rig-Talk, you take the opposite approach and come in all hot 🔥

Enjoy your time here. As you can see, we are an actual online community that gives a fuck.
Right on thanks for the post and message and I understand the giveaway is for long standing members who have contributed and I definitely am not.

In either case still think its cool and hope the guitar goes to a well deserving member.

Everyone who is a member is welcome to the party.
I was telling you how to become a member.
Not telling you to kiss anyone's ass.
That kind of thing doesn't fly here, either.
Literally was only trying to give you an opportunity while remaining fair to other members.

Right on but I mean I am a member and have been a member for 5 years....... longer than some others here even..... although yeah don't frequent as much or have posted a lot. Didn't come just for the giveaway either.... especially as it says it's open to all and you have to be a member that didn't come just for the giveaway aside from contributing.

I understand you have your interpretation of what a "member" means but the requirements aside from "contributing" or being long standing just don't seem that clear in that regard and was just asking for clarification if I qualified and if I did all I needed to do to enter.

In any case it's clear now it's for members who actively post and have been here for a considerable amount of time and I'm not a member who's actively posted for a considerable amount of time.

Traditional V or San Dimas for me. This is very cool that you are doing this for the group! Super excited to see the progress of each build in stages, to follow along with.

I'm excited to see what y'all come up with! Was a bit worried at first with the current build, but seems like it's moving in a good direction. Feel that this route will be less tug of war and more collaboration given similar interests. Also those who win will have been part of the build process and have selected their prize vs here's a guitar, hope you like it.

I can see that my efforts to go wildly different have been thwarted for the time being. Really excited to see what metal machine pops out of all of this!

Funny, I've started to like V's specifically for playing while sitting. It's taken a little getting used to, but now that I'm picking up the knack to it I really like having the guitar naturally rest in the classical position without me having to bother about propping it up with my knee. Before, I was team super strat when it came to ergonomics.

It is something i used to do with a king v. The rhoades doesnt sit as balanced there, but i am definitely in classical position. Just when i reach for the mouse, it dives, and the arm of the chair sometimes gets in the way of the horn

Ah, makes sense. I've a preference for king v's or similar full v's for similar reasons.
