I have no experience with these guitars. Do any of you? I am really loving the look and sound of this model, at least from what I've hear on some clips throughout the 'net. If I decide to go for it, it will be a blind purchase. What are your thoughts on this guitar, its quality, sound of the pups, durability, etc. Anything would be helpful. PGS has some great looking models in stock, and I'm thinking of trying one out within their return policy.

Also, has anyone bought from PGS before? If I bought a G&L from them, I believe it is going to be an unboxed version, probably the one Andy demoed in the video. That is a bit of a turnoff, especially considering there could be some play and wear on the guitar that I wouldn't have necessarily put on there myself.

G&L makes great guitars! I've never played a bad one, including the Tribute models. Never ordered from PGS, but they seem to be a top-notch company.
FWIW I bought an '86 G&L off a member here this past summer and it has become my go to axe! I wouldn't worry about it being used. It just adds mojo!

My G&L ASAT classic is a great guitar, great quality and strong single coil sound due to the high magnetic field PUs.
I haven't found any guitar getting even close to the G&L.

I had good experience with PGS, I ordered the empress super delay and there was no issue when shipping to germany - you can't go wrong with ordering there...

yes and yes.

FWIW, I almost was "tricked" by a TRIBUTE ASAT Deluxe. It was used at GC, and seemed like a too good to be true deal for a real G&L. The tribute label was REALLY small, and I was kind of turned off by the deception.

The price was a bit high, but I REALLY connected with it. If I would have had more money at the time, I'm sure it could have been my main axe.

OTOH, REAL G&L's always sound and play fantasically. buy without fear. The resale is good on USA G&L's

I loved this one. Sold and its one of them I wish I still had.

Good enough for Jerry Cantrell, good enough for me.

I'm listening to Jar of Flies right now.

Good points have been made in this thread. A lot of good points! Thanks everyone, I've got some thinking to do. I forgot Cantrell used G&Ls, I think he even has a customized signature guitar through them. I am really thinking about picking up the ASAT Special Deluxe No Top from PGS. It looks so amazing. It's rare that I find a guitar so aesthetically pleasing. A Strat in Surf Green or Fiesta Red have always had a hold on me, as has a Gibson SG Standard in Heritage Cherry or and an ES 335 in Satin Black -- but this ASAT is too beautiful. I love the simplicity and the way the Tele shape looks more sophisticated without the pickguard.

The G&Ls posted are some dandys -- thanks for taking the time.

Yeah, G&L re-issued the Rampage as a Jerry Cantrell signature model.
