You deserve one, think about it like that.

PRS makes incredible guitars...no different than Suhr, Tyler etc... It's simply what you like...nothing more. I've owned Tylers, Suhr's, Anderson's and not bonded with any at this point...certainly doesn't make them bad guitars, quite the contrary...there some of the best guitars in the world. And just because I didn't get on with the one's I owned wouldn't make me not give them a try the next time. In fact I'd love to give the Suhr Modern a try...I mean I've been through numerous PRS's to find the one's I did like. Heck if I'd let the gazillions of Les Pauls I've owned and played through the years that I didn't bond with cloud my judgement I wouldn't own 2 of the best playing and sounding Les Pauls ( to me mind you ) around. Just sayin.

I really like those finishes ... but every time I see a pretty PRS, I think HAMER USA! :D
LOL

Funny thing is though after doing this thread I am going of the idea of it now and I am back to Edwards gas ( a price range more acceptable to me at the moment)

The shape of Hamer DCs make me want to barf. The wood is very nice though.

I'm not a PRS fan, myself. I love Samhill's Modern. The quilt looks like a lake of fire...

I've got a Suhr Modern and a PRS Custom 24. I like the PRS better than the Suhr. They are both excellent though. The tone of the PRS is better and the neck is more comfortable IMHO. The Suhr is a bit sterile sounding and lacking character. The PRS is meaty and thick with a very woody voice.

I'm not a PRS fanboy, never even really thought much about them before. Then I picked up the Custom 24 in a trade and instantly bonded with it.

My favorite guitar is still my old, beat-up, home-made Warmoth. Incredible tone. I like it so much I built another and that one doesn't sound anywhere near as good. Just got an exceptional piece of wood on the first one I guess.

I have been there and I am scared to go back..... :scared:

I am leaving Billericay (and the UK) at the end of the year any how, I just have to hold on till then.

neil... the 513 is one of the most amazing guitars ever built imo. it's been my main touring/gigging guitar for 3 years now and i would be crushed if i lost it. I'd definitely get another in a heartbeat.

When i got it i was underwhelmed at first. I was coming from a ernie ball s.s. with sss and maple neck. the 513 is super dark which is what turned me off at first. I wasn't used to a dark single coil sound. i was switching back and forth and doing sessions, etc, and just started learning how to dial the guitar in with amps. once i found it's sweet spot it was no looking back.

the smoothness of the neck is second to none. it bends like butter and stays in tune with double stops twice as well as the ernie ball. this thing was under planes for travel to 6 continents and dropped on the concrete (by my crappy ass tech) and it still only ever needed one setup in all these years.

there's no volume drop between modes (which is always a problem with a coil tapping system). you still get a 60 cycle hum but it's not that bad. I use the 2nd position most (standard hum setting). the guitar cuts and cleans up perfectly. I love the neck position of the single mode. I love the out of phase sounds in the ultra mode. I love the center position for the hi fi tele sounds.

this guitar is just a must have to me. I've owned 4 prs's (swamp ash, tremonti sc, hollowbody II and 513) and this is definitely the cream of the crop for someone who needs a do everything guitar. it cannot be touched... not by suhrs or andersons or the likes... and i like those guitars as well.

the 513 is worth every penny. that's my .02

My wife would kill me, plus I have been hit in the balls by the financial downturn.......... Cuts up credit cards.

But the temptation is there. :inlove: Thats a sexy guitar.

PRS's are kinda like a really pretty chick.. Their really cool at first and then you realize that you were drunk when you met her.

I've had a PRS Singlecut Anniversary Artist and a Johnny Hiland. I really liked the Hiland. The neck just felt great! Would love another someday!

:)

I must be an alcoholic then because the 2 I have are the finest guitars I have ever owned. :)

Meh,

Is that a bolt on neck? Awkward looking heel.

If Tool or Meta$$$$ica used them you would love it

Maybe about five years ago.

Don't really care for what they use now that's why I did not spend 10k on a beat to crap Japanese made Les Paul copy.

There is nothing wrong with a Japanese made guitar..

Never played that one but Im a big fan of PRS's having a pair of McCartys myself. I think they are a good value when used. A little pricy for what they are new IMO.
