Damn tough being a fanboi around here!

I have tried the RSB-12 on loan, had three pre-amps connected to it as well as several pedals and my GMajor. It was a mother to set up and to be honest not sure if everything was correct :aww:

The Bradshaw comment was a poke at Guitarslinger with his love of CAE and huge racks...so give me a break :D

What are you talking about.

The only CAE item I own now is the piece of wood to which I mount my pedals.

I sold the 3+ to a guy on TGP.

GCX - Ground Control.

I switch amp channels, FX pedals and programs in my FX processor simultaneously. Yep, with the toe tap of one button on the Ground Control it all happens at once...no more dancing around trying to switch between songs

All I can say is about this subject is that any of the new Amp switchers that are out today can do exactly what you want. As to what brand you want to use it really is all apples vs oranges. You need to decide what budget you have and what expandability you need etc etc etc.

That said, I use the GCX and Ground control because it was cheap and it works extremely well. Everone who I know of who is using the Bradshaw or Skydstryp(sp?) Paid almost triple of what I did.
You just need to decide what will work for you.

I guess I'll have to post the latest version of my rack

The Engl was used as power amp for a short time, I now have an EL34-based power amp build by an Italian company Advance Tube Tech. The power amp outshined a VHT 2-50-2 which I originally wanted to get.

The GCX-Ground Control Pro is a great combination, I use the All Access because I owned it before I had the GCX, I was using a GRX4 before it. I can't fault the GCX, it works flawlessly and there's plenty of studio hotshots etc that are using it. I only hated the buildin buffer so I'm not using it. I have my rack setup so that my guitar signal goes directly into the Input of the 1st loop on the GCX, so I avoid using the buffer.

The Ground Control is a good pedalboard and obviously perfect to go with the GCX. Combination is EASY to workout and program. My All Access will probably get replaced later this year because it has seen a lot of abuse from +1000 gigs and even more rehearsals (bought it from a pro several years ago). So now I'm GASSING BADLY for one of these muddas:

Riffenstien, I need an RSP-550.

It's like the SE-50's big brother.

Gainfreak, you pretty much got that one right on. Certain systems are easier to program than others..(Axxess Electronics comes to mind) Budget is a big factor as well, since most all of them do the same things. Some have more features than others. Skrydstrup makes everything custom for what the rig needs. As far as I can tell, Steen will set up and assemble your entire rig for you based on your specs...so, it's a one-stop shop. You provide your amp and FX and he does the rest. I guess very similar to CAE, except CAE is in The USA. So, the custom part of it plus the full service set-up is where the extra $$$ might come into play.

So, am I wrong in saying that you can't organize your presets into songs on the Ground Control? I realize that you can do banks, but songs? I think I'm hoping someone will tell me you can. As far as I know, you can't. Wishful thinking.

anyone able to help me?
im using a gcx, all access, rocktron xpression and framus dragon head. (the gcx is for simple pedal loops before the amp, not channel changing, thats the all access's job)

how do i hook it all up? i wish they were conventional with their midi stuff, although, it probably succeeded in increasing ground control sales.

i want the all access phantom powered from the xpression, so here's what im thinking.

midi out from the AA to the midi in in the xpression, then midi out from the xpression with pins 1 and 3 removed to the gcx's midi in, then from the midi thru to the framus's midi in.

that all looks fine to me, except will yoinking pins 1 and 3 compromise the xpressions midi output somehow?
tis my first midi rig, sorry if i rambled to much/not enough.

any help would be much appreciated!!

I have 2-GCX,Ground Control Pro, System Mix Plus - I grew tired of the dance. I use it if I only use one amp and four pedals or 3 amps and a dozen effects.
