thanks d-rock for cleaning that up a bit bro. i came off as a hard-ass on that post but i was intentionally trying to give accurate info and not falsely a claim on more of them =]

i use a 12ax7 in mine. bob at eurotubes can get you a balanced tube by request no problem. i was just saying intentional circuit designs differ from company to company but began as a clean buffer stage and is a very basic design universal to all companies.

and yeah. swap tubes, if it solves the problem no harm done! =]

Oh, no big deal. You're right, PI's do differ from compamy to company. I think Mesa has some strict requirements for their PI, for example.
