Yes, they are different (the guitars), and to the best of my knowledge it's been painted once...

Germany, 1982' with Juan Croucher [Ratt] on bass before Pilson.

My understanding was lynch wanted to be the only guitar player and because don was not up to lynch's level. I also think lynch just wanted him focusing on singing and being the front man.

George also was passed over twice for Ozzy once after Randy and again before Jake.

Lynch also knew Randy and gave lessons at Delores Rhoads music store making & selling guitars to students and others.

No matter what you think of George Lynch his DNA profile is impregnated into modern rock guitar whether you like it or not.

I thought that original tiger body was a Mighty Mite body!?!?

Hey Guys!!!!

All great stuff! But.....I would still like to know who you recommend for acquiring the parts. Warmouth? Mighty Mite? Fill in the blank _________! I already am set up for the paint and I know the sources for the hardware. This is a body that I am watching on the evil bay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Super-Nice-Hand ... 463083330a

Thee original Tiger was a 13 pound maple body he built.

He still has the body and plays it but its had 30 years of differnet necks.

Its been painted a zillion times.

Top 2 are a different guitar than the infamous 'Tiger', aren't they?
Yes...top 2 are actually the same guitar. This is the guitar that Lynch traded in for the Kramer that is in the "Alone Again" video...which became the original Mr. Scary guitar. Actually scratch that...the Tiger was traded for a red Kramer. Bottom tiger is the keeper with the massive maple body and as others have stated, the finish checked when flying to Germany.

The Russian camo guitar is still my favorite Lynch guitar. Was a cool guitar period for George with the Charvels (another fave of mine is the one in the Stars video), Kramers, his mutt and eventually the ESP deal.

There was a run of Charvels done in that graphic, around 10 years ago. Seem to remember there were some issues with the run though, and haven't seen any for sale for ages..

Matt's Music did those, if I recall correctly, as a limited run with the Jackson-Charvel Forum.

In response to the original question - Have you considered looking for a used guitar with those specs and having it refinished?

Great idea. That's what I would do. Seems like less of a hassle this way.

Yes! I just cannot find one. It would absolutely get the process done faster. If anyone knows where I can source one? I am all ears and thanks!

OP if you are after the body wood used on the original tiger guitar, you want northern ash. Contrary to what others are saying here it is not maple. For years, it was thought to be maple and ESP built those guitars mistakenly with maple bodies. I did get to pick up the original tiger. It is a heavy bodied guitar, not sure if its 13lbs heavy but that may be close.
That web page on the equipment used on ULK. I wonder where they got their info from. Misinformation is abound on the net.
Good luck with that guitar.

I've always heard it was maple. Pretty sure I've heard/read Georgr say it was maple. What makes you say it's ash??
