Ghost goes full 80s hard rock

I actually liked it. And I haven’t liked anything by them much before.

I liked the early stuff, probably the first one the most. Once he ditched the original guys and started going in a more pop metal direction, that’s where I didn’t get the continued success, as I think it sounded off for his personas and vocal approach. The earlier sound, everything blended really well.

I believe it's all about the weird different personas that he's doing is why he changes up everything along with each new one. Eventually he'll probably be writing nursery rhymes and praising Jesus.

Been a fan of this band since day 1. They have so many facets of music, and yes - it's all from the mind of basically one guy. Tobias is incredible in how he has evolved this "band" - or "act" more accurately. Their live show is top notch, and the musicians that tour with him are top notch.

I agree. If you investigate Tobias Forge's history and all the different bands he has led, or participated in, stylistically they include classic metal, post punk, pop, new wave, death metal and 80's glam metal. Over the last decade he seems to have incorporated all of this experience and influences into Ghost. You either like it, or don't. Personally, I appreciate what he's doing.

Awesome! Y'all have anything lined up?

They have no plans to play shows, just a fun thing to do in the drummers basement on
Saturdays.

Of course this is what they say now. If we get gud, I'm certain someone will be pressing to play out.

The timing is way off. I should not have contacted them until after my vacation. So this may, or may not happen today but I'm trying to get it together. I got a DSL100H ready with a 1960TV cab and mono paddleboard ready. No idea wght guitars are ready. I got a few in cases that I hope are still in great shape l;ike when I put them away. The ones I been playing need strings so bad and I haven't had time to get it all done yet.

Clock is ticking. I need to make a game time decision. Im' not ready, but thats' not a good state to be in. Got to get to the guitars now.

Stumbled across Ghost through Spotify back in 2019 and about 3 weeks later saw them supporting Metallica. Super catchy songs with a decent dose of tongue in cheek humour to go with it. Seen them live 3 times and can confirm they put on a good show and sound great. That said, the more popular they’ve become the worse the crowds have become, at least in the UK. Enjoy most of their songs - they’re growers for me. That said, that “Heresy” bit right in the middle of the chorus of Satanized really bugs me - can’t get past it.

Ghost- is beyond awesome and I’m 60 plus years old. Musicianship is incredible and they are thinking outside the box.

They haven't really wowed me since the older stuff, but it's always worth it to see them live.

It’s not my favourite but I do dig some of their tunes he has some great riffs like watcher in the sky
Sunshine
And the songwriting is actually pretty good , he knows his stuff
Whether you like it or not is a different story
But a song like Dance Macabre
Listen to how well how layered and how many chord changes are is that thing , the arrangements and orchestration I can totally appreciate
