I’ve also read that dental care is largely free to children in parts of Europe
 
That's great. It's not in the water though. Even the heads of water works departments are quoted as calling the stuff toxic.
Concentrated it is toxic. Diluted to the level that ends up out of your tap is fine.
 
Oh I forgot you don't even say "tap"... You want Farrah Faucet Majors...
 
But don’t worry there is good news, we put chlorine in the water to kill a lot of the bad stuff
 
My dentist even gives you more concentrated fluoride when they clean your teeth.
