Sean! Shit, I've not seen you in forever.

And the explorer collection keeps on'a growing, I see.

Not to sound like a silly goose, but your name is mad familiar.....where did we chat? or did I sell you an axe? :)

Met-Board and the ESP Forums.

i am totally a gibson guy. My main axe is my LP which replaced my V as main, which replaced my Jackson. Had an Explorer once, didn't get along with it. I have been wanting to try another for some time.

Problem or obsession ?

I would say Obession. The fanboy in me started it but that and LPC's are the shapes that feel the best and IMO sound the best (ESP that is) Perfect for sitting, standing, lots of wood for tonage ;) LPC's I like, but the non weight relieved ones are fucking back breakers. I just sold one that was one and got a old 1976 one that is much lighter and sounds slammin with teh EMGorz. ;0

Hot stuff Monty, review and tone vid of course. The LPC relic is getting there, but man some of that clear and paint is hard to sand down to the wood :aww:

Monty, that is a SWEET looking Gibby. I don't like the Vintage White AT ALL, but I LOVE Snow White.

I've wanted a Snow White ESP Explorer for 8 years now :(

Dude, you remind me of my old singer. He had more facial gruff than this pic, and never mind his man boobs   He's the one on the left.

Ok metal heads, who owns an Explorer? Does anyone own one along with a Les Paul? I never spent much time with an Explorer but I've heard some guys get killer tones from them for rock and metal. I played a few and it's clear that Gibsons quality control smokes dope often   I played a Explorer a few months back and it was full of fuck ups all over it, other ones i played were pretty clean.

I was thinking of getting another ballsy sounding dual bucker loaded guitar and Explorers are a lot cheaper than LP's. Yes, i do like PRS SC's but they're pretty pricey while Explorers go for under 1k often. The white Explorers with the Ebony boards are the sex.

I have an '02 Gibson Explorer with stock pickups. This guitar sounds absolutely huge and is my "metal" guitar. It's surprisingly comfortable to play, considering the weird shape...kind of like a piece of furniture, LOL!

My Les Paul Standard has a more rounded tone. It can cover more ground/styles than the Explorer. Probably because the pickups aren't as hot. I think the maple cap helps too.

Haven't played the Explorer in a while. Time to restring her & bust out some brootalz.
