Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom - Any of you guys have one?

Just to clarify, I'm not putting the Classic Customs down in my above post. The bottom line is, if you play any guitar and it feels and sounds good to you, then it's a good guitar for you. Period.

However, if you like the Classic Customs because they have the look of a Custom at a more reasonable price point, why not just get a used Custom? That's all my point was.

Carry on!

I have the '12 Classic Plus 60's in Manhattan Midnight. All the bullshit that's spoken about the baked maple, and weight relief is just that - BULLSHIT. The fingerboard darkens after some play, and conditioning and the weight's still there. It doesn't weigh a ton, and it's full of tone. Mine has the 496R/500T's, and right now, my Explorer and V are getting no love. It's alot of guitar for the money, and that pic posted is computer generated. I almost bought the goldtop, but wanted the hotter pick-ups, and the blue color.

One of the issues I have with them stems from my perspective on cost. If they're using cheaper materials (richlite, granadillo, baked maple), the price should be lower. Prices have remained the same, and/or increased in the past couple years. I do believe the issues with chambering and weight-relieving are bullshit. Nothing wrong with the tone, and if anything, they're more resonant. Just my opinion, in case anyone wants to start a pissing match with me. :)

My issue with the baked maple is on an LP custom, which is traditionally ebony. I checked out a picture of the Classic Plus Manhattan Midnight and it looks very nice, love that color. Price is pretty reasonable too.
