That highly depends on who is in the band and who you know lol! When I was in my last coverband our drummer hooked us up with gigs that payed really well because he was a bartender for 20 + years and he was friends with all the owners of the bars we played. Sometimes we got payed $300 per person. With that said, The going rate is usually $100 a man provided that you dont have 20 people in the band lol! Even the omnipop guys onle get about $100 a gig....but they play 4 or 5 gigs a week ;)

Now if you are in a tribute band and the band takes off, you can make a killing. My new bass players journey tribute band sometimes get $3000 a gig plus they have been flown out of state a few times to perform.

also depends on the area..in shitsville, I mean, central/southern jersey, if you ask for $500 they look at you like you have two heads...

they don't give a fuck about who's good..they give a fuck about who's the cheapest....

As stated: about $100.00 per man in a coverband. Possibly more. Definitely more in a well established tribute band. Original material.....maybe a few pitchers of beer, some off the ticket sales, and all $ from merchandise.

Depends...the Country gig pays as rule 250 per bare minimum.
But I know Blues and Classic Rock guys that do theirs for anywhere between 70-150.
Also we usually end up doing Friday/Saturday at the same place. And those are usually 600 per for both nights.
This is for a 5 piece band with a 6th share going to the band fund, to pay for merch etc...

We are lucky to get $300-400 for the band. Not alot of places to play in my area so the rates stay low. I am in a 5 piece band, so for me $100 a man would be doing pretty good. What irks me is that DJ's get paid more usually :gethim:

me:

one man singing + my acoustic playing.

3 hours = $150-$300 depending on who's hiring

Nice, how much do you guys work?

Depends on the venue.

Most places we've played have been either Door Only $5/person, or $125+Door, or $300+Door Split...

Just depends - but for the most part, $300-$400 is average for the typical bar gig.

Yeah, the only thing in your area that I can think of right off is Czar's.

We usually went to South Bend to play...

I guess were doing ok then. we gig two to three times a month, and take in anywhere from 90 to 150 per man per gig. (btw, thats all we want to gig right now, none of us are doing this for a living, we all have day gigs, families, mortgages, bills, life sucking events that leave you a mere shell of your former musician glory   ..............oh, NURSE!!!!!!!!!!TIME FOR MY MEDS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Around my neck of the woods:
bars - $100/man
corporate/private parties - $150-$300/man

No, whole band/whole night.

Best paying gig that I've found so far (for a bar) would be in OKC, place offers $300 (if you bring your PA, do your own collection, etc), plus whatever you charge at the door.

Well, outside of the casinos, $1200+/night there, but they have total control and look at you cross-eyed if you bring in non-electronic gear (V-drums, POD's, etc) - they prefer you plug in to their sound system and let their person handle the controls....

Casinos are great for cash. That is the downside, gearwise....if you care about such things. My wife and I saw a cover band at Harrahs a while back....guitars and bass on Line6 floorboards, electric drums, and vocals all straight into a computer run by the casino sound guy. They sounded great and everyone had a blast drinking and dancing. Went home that night and decided that a bunch of my overpriced gear had to go.

that's what I forgot to mention...if you can get them, corporate gigs are the SHIT!!!! we got over $800 a person for one big gig we did late last year..five peice band...

of course that was the day that the drummer and the keyboard player decided to phone it in (never pay people up front, they lose their motivation)..which caused a big fuckin' stink and the inevitable band break up...

funny..we played dumps for nothing and they acted like they were playing MSG..the biggest paying gig we ever had and they fuckin' slacked off...ironic, innit?

I've never met a club owner or agent who gave 2 shits how many people were in the band when it came time to get paid, so you'll have to think of the going rate as a "per band" rate and split the money up however you choose. A 6 piece band will generall get the same shitty pay that a 3 piece band gets.

In the Dallas area, if you're a solid cover band doing classic rock and playing the typical 3 sets you can slum around everywhere for $300-$400 per night (for the band). Once you're established you can play for $500-$700 (for the band) pretty easily. Getting into the $800+ range in clubs is tough around here, you've got to start doing private parties and corporate gigs to get better pay, although some of the agents I've worked with have got me $1000-$1500 club gigs before, but those aren't nearly as common as the $600 gigs we usually play.

Not much at all, we only have 1 gig scheduled this year even. My goal is 1-3 shows per month, but its not happening with not everyone pitching in to get shows.

I am actually looking into a 2nd band that would play newer music, maybe even an original here or there. My current band just plays classic rock pretty much.

You know we don't have any of these issues...we use the same gear in Casinos, bars or at national act opening gigs.

Corporate stuff is the shit....this is 4000K+ starting point for the band. My fave is 4th of July and NYE those are usually 5000 and up.
