Gigging guys, whats the going rate

haha no that was an old band my friend, those guys didnt have their shit together and they rarely got paid what they booked a gig for.

we arent! haha, we play in connecticut, the bronx and white plains. we played this place in hempstead a few times and might be gettign back in there soon, but i dont know if youd wanna go there, the crowd was probably 18-22, most with fake id's lol. but hey.....maybe you like that kinda thing...

I play in a cover band about 3 weekends a month on average, at least 600.00 a weekend, 400.00 for a one niter and the price goes up if you draw well

P.S. You call a full night 3 sets try 5 sets my friend

round here its pretty much 3 1 hour sets, and if the bar owner wants more they pony up dinero for it.

i get ya i'm in the portland oregon area and the average is 5-45 min sets, play 45 min 15 min break, usually 9pm -200am, that billy bo I bought mint used $1799.00 and worth every penny

My last band is doing a opener at the Tacoma dome sometime this year. A $100 for covers seems pretty normal out here. I have some friends that do $3000 to $6000 a night for the band (4 piece) doing funk. That's the gig I am shooting for. 70's -80's funk bring the girls - brings the money.

It goes something like this, a shitty cover band gets 600 a night good cover band gets 1000 a night a good tribute band gets 1200 a night and great tribute or cover bands get between 1500-2500 per show.

Another way is your band takes 33% of the ring at the bar. if you pull in a great crowd and your following can drink you can make around 2000 for a night. Thats around 200 people spending 25 each on booze. Not hard to do when I go out and I go often I'll piss away 100 bucks and drinks.

It is all over the place, last year I did gigs with the bluesband (4-piece band) for 60 euro/person up to corporate party with the coverband (5-piece band) that paid 400/person.

In general, pub/club gigs pay around 350/400 euros BUT most of the time we only have to play 2 sets of about an hour. With the coverband we do 3-set gigs and they are 500 or more.

it's the same around here.. about 100 bucks per night.. per guy.. doing covers.
there are a few local acts that make more. they're pretty good muscians and have larger followings with the younger crowds.. and there are a couple bands that are sponsored. but for most of us the rule of 100 applies.

If you play country music, and you play downtown in Nashville your expected to play for next to nothing. Hell, many of the bars on lower Broad and 2nd Ave want you to play for tips! EVERYONE comes to Nashville expecting to be a country star and some "artists" (term used loosely) are good, some average and some suck. But big name joints like Tootsies, Roberts, etc almost expect you to pay them to play. It's crazy! Thing is these bars know that so many people are so star struck they'll do anything just to get heard including playing for no door or salary, just tips.

I'm really surprised at the amount I see some of you guys getting. Around here the band supply WAYYYYYY outpaces demand. I'm in a coverband trio that plays classic and todays rock around the outskirts ( 20-40mi) radius outside of Nashville and salary for 3 sets at any one of the handful of places we play per month is 200-350.00 per show for the band.
Saturation is my bands worst enemy around here. Here you better have a good looking press kit with a 5 song demo to get a gig.

figures, I will be heading back to our area with 6 high school robotics students in tow Saturday night, they have a meet this up that way, but we have to be back by sat, daughters matinee for the jhs play is sunday

Up here in Toronto, cover band's top dollar is between $700-$800 per night.
Tribute bands I play in (Eagles, Queen...) $2000 and up a night.
Corporate pays way way more. I've made $3200 to myself for a one 4 song 20 minute set (Toyota Company party)

Be a three piece and make some coin...more guys in the band hurts.
