Glenn Fricker on Ola Englund's new budget guitars

It's hard not to be jealous of Glenn's hair when you don't have any.

And Mary Spender is more annoying than loud mouth Glenn as far as I'm concerned. I pretty much despise all female youtube influencer guitarists. Whores, mostly.
There is something about her that really bugs me. Certainly hate her video titles, usually along the lines of something a personal threshold transgressed or problem or defeat. I start watching thinking I’m going to get a sweet drunken, drug fueled rape story involving a three way with Tim Pierce and Beato (who rapes who is up to you) but it’s always something lame like I’m actually not using this pick any more or “I’m sad about YT revenue”.

Agree. I don't really like any of the influencer guitarists but Mary Spender has the Tim Pierce level click bait titles and unlike Pierce has absolutely nothing substantive in the videos themselves. About the only guy I have found that I like is Matthrew Scott. Seems like a good player, avoids the mega click bait titles, and doesn't blow a lot of smoke and hype about the crap he's talking about. That being said I'm sick of the multitude of dudes with the SRV sound alike tone. Great tone when it's not every dude with a sunburst strat doing it.

I bought a Solar recently, the Fernandez Sustainer one in candy apple red that I almost bought a year or two ago but then they sold out of them and I kicked myself about it. So when they came up for sale again recently I jumped on it. I've always wanted a guitar with one of these things in it and the Solar is the coolest guitar I've seen that comes with one stock.

The Solar honestly punches far above its weight, which I was not expecting. I expected a fun shreddy gimmick guitar that can infinitely sustain notes for as long as the battery lasts, but I find myself picking it up a lot even if I don't mess with the Sustainer. It feels solid, it resonates well, the candy apple red color might actually be the best looking shade of red I've ever seen on an instrument, and the neck shape and fretwork feels great. It doesn't even have the typical cheap hollow feel that guitars with Floyds can often (but not always) have.

No idea how the S by Solar guitars are though.

And yeah I'm not listening to anything Fricker has to say about it.

Man, I’m having a HARD time not buying one of these right now. A REALLY hard time.

My E-type‘s build convinced me they’re not cutting corners. The construction/build/fit/finish all couldn’t be a fluke.

Some of the best fretwork I’ve ever seen on an off-the-shelf guitar, period, never mind for an Indo.

I’ll definitely agree with you there, the fretwork on mine is flawless. And they’re stainless steel, so they feel like glass.

I’m also surprised at how good the neck shape is. I was expecting some ultra thin Ibanez Wizard neck that makes it feel like you’re playing a ruler instead of a guitar neck, but it’s not like that. It’s a lot closer to something like the EVH necks, they’re on the thinner side of the scale but still an obvious round C shape.

I didn't know who this guy was until he showed up in my suggested with a clickbait "Celestion just ENDED the V30" video

Turns out it was just a comparison between two different year V30's

Even more embarrassing were all of the comments talking about the comparison or some other detail of the video. Am I crazy? I guess if you just get people to click on a attention grabbing title, it doesn't actually matter what the content is because everyone's little goldfish brain forgets that the reason they even got there was because of a dupe.

Anyway I'll be the first to defend an actually good youtube channel, but this guy sucks

Honestly why does anyone care what this guy thinks about anything?

Because he's loud and obnoxious, so other people care about what he thinks, which means there's a non-zero chance we'll run up against somebody under his influence at some point.

One of the saddest things I see online are idiots that actually take this guy seriously...

Well you see he gets Very Angry™ about things and calls people idiots all the time so obviously he knows best about how those things oughta be. Surprised you didn't know that. :D

because hes the low hanging fruit of the youtube world, people cant take him and others are making money off their channels and the best way for a lot of them to cope with that seems to be making threads complaining about him, which makes no sense to me cause im sure with each daily thread here he gets another couple hundred views at least making him more money :dunno: Glenn is smart enough to see this and is working it brilliantly imo, hes the "story" that just wont go away because the people wont allow it. no one here actually cares what glenn thinks, half of the threads you can tell the OP hasnt even watched the video they are complaining about

He got over 200k views on his video. That's way above a lot of YouTubers like Ola and Fluff. Hard to ignore.

Yeah, that neck is REALLY comfortable. Hahahah at one point I described it as “a rather meaty C” but after getting my 1” Strat neck and the Edwards LPC I just say “med C”.

I’m starting to practice singing while playing some of the original stuff I’m putting a band together for, it’s been a few years since I’ve done it, but there’s so many little things that can catch you up when your focus is spread thin and I’m finding that as much as I love the LP’s, my E-type will be my main player unless I need a Floyd. It just gets out of it’s own way, I don’t neck to think about neck joints and even that taper as the neck gets slimmer towards the nut is a welcoming.

I would be very surprised if this line was made at Cort or World Music and was compared to anything other than bullet/affinity level workmanship.
China?

LOL, the song on the Element Bass advertisement was horrible.
