I bought a Solar recently, the Fernandez Sustainer one in candy apple red that I almost bought a year or two ago but then they sold out of them and I kicked myself about it. So when they came up for sale again recently I jumped on it. I've always wanted a guitar with one of these things in it and the Solar is the coolest guitar I've seen that comes with one stock.
The Solar honestly punches far above its weight, which I was not expecting. I expected a fun shreddy gimmick guitar that can infinitely sustain notes for as long as the battery lasts, but I find myself picking it up a lot even if I don't mess with the Sustainer. It feels solid, it resonates well, the candy apple red color might actually be the best looking shade of red I've ever seen on an instrument, and the neck shape and fretwork feels great. It doesn't even have the typical cheap hollow feel that guitars with Floyds can often (but not always) have.
No idea how the S by Solar guitars are though.
And yeah I'm not listening to anything Fricker has to say about it.
