Ok, with one of my guitars, it has threaded metal inserts in the body for the control cavity cover. The screws holding the cover on don't just go into the wood, they screw into the inserts. But the inserts themselves are screwed into the body. And when you try to unscrew the screws to get the cover off, the inserts come unscrewed.

What's the best type of glue to use (just a dab) to hold the inserts into the body? Epoxy? Wood glue? Gorilla glue? Super glue?

I would use Wood Glue myself. I wouldn't recommend Super glue unless its the thicker slower drying type ,the thin stuff could wick into the internal thread.

Pictures please.

Is the hole all wollerd out, I would not glue, toothpick trick should work.

I'm not sure wood glue would adhere well to metal. I would not use gorilla glue as it expands. I would use some type of epoxy.

I wound up using Gorilla brand gel super glue. I didn't want to use the regular Gorilla Glue because it expands. And I didn't want to use regular super glue because it's too watery and runs. I thought about using wood glue. But I didn't want a huge mess or excess/bleed. And it takes a long time to dry.

The gel type stuff seemed to do the trick. Doesn't run. Goes where you want it. And didn't bleed much at all.

This isn't the exact guitar in question. But same inserts, etc.

AAAHHHHH!!! THAT SHIELDING IS HAUNTING ME!! Sorry.. I just spent 2 days pulling out everything and ripping out all the foil for my sustainiac install.... It was nicely done like yours too. Glad you got the glue sorted.
