I'm pretty much done with Reverb.. when they first came out, they were a GREAT alternative to eBay... now, between fees, gov't tracking your Paypal and venmo in excess of $600... moving gear is no longer fun, nor easy

Yeah, I agree. Though since it's inception, I have 384 transactions. I've only had a couple bad experiences as a seller, (both were dipshits trying to pull a fast one, which Reverb sided with me on both occasions), which account for 187 sales, so that's pretty good. But, I've had probably over a dozen turds I've received as a buyer, where they were "mint", and beat to hell, or not even in the ballpark of being as described. 99.9% of those were private individuals.

It's not bad luck, it's just a fact that it's going to happen when you order that much. And, surely shows that 10% of the time, people can't be trusted to be honest in their descriptions. I need to stop buying!! It's only gotten more frequent, and more annoying. If I list as mint, you bet your ass there's not even a piece of lint on it. I've kinda gone to listing mint items as excellent, and excellent items as very good. Nearly 100% of the time, the buyers' typically leave feedback "exceeds expectations".

I've mostly sold gear there for about the past 5 years.

I think I've only bought one item from Reverb.com, and it was an unbelievably pristine 1979 Boss GE-10.

I had one glitch selling a vintage amp on there. The buyer got it, and within hours started messaging me the OT was blown. It was a combo amp, and he admitted to disconnecting the internal speaker and trying to connect other speaker(s).

I had insured through UPS and even though Reverb demanded I refund this guy, I collected the insurance from UPS and came out about $200 ahead of the sale price (without paying the Reverb.com fees).

Bought a Jackson Soloist MJ at a great price. Pics were decent, not the greatest, but it certainly looked clean. I asked several questions, and seller vehemently said it was "Perfect, like new". I receive this.... And, no, that big headstock chip didn't happen in transit. It was conveniently not pictured, nor was it disclosed. Under the inch of dust/dirt, are several fine scratches you can't see.. I hate lazy fucks that can't grab a rag and some polish - it scream "I don't give a fuck". And, no, I'm not upset over some filth, it's the scratches under it. Requested return, so far he's blown me off. Fuck Reverb, and the seller, I'm going straight to PayPal. Reverb just jerks you around with "help links to FAQ's".View attachment 138373View attachment 138379View attachment 138376
I also hate lazy fucks that can’t spend 20 seconds of their precious time to wipe their shit on a guitar that are selling. Sucks man. I hope you get fully refunded

I did. Waiting on return label, and they already refunded.

Worked out for the best, I found a smokin' deal on an American Series SL3 in white! Much rather have white anyway!

Or peel velcro off a fucking pedal. That irritates the fuck out of me, (especially when they don't tell you it's there). I don't want your nasty dog hair and pubes.

Ouch, I’ve had good luck with all but one purchase from reverb. Sucks when it plays out like that.

I could be paying too much credence to all the bad reverb and eBay seller stories I read. Haven't sold anything on either one in years.
I'll be stupidly cautious and err that way.

Seems like they side more with the buyer. Almost with a "victim buyer" mentality. There must be a lot of the woke at reverb.

I've also quit making major used gear purchases on all platforms. During the height of the pandemic sellers were going absolutely bat-shit crazy on used gear asking prices.

Fuckem'........I'll do with out. They can stick the overpriced used garbage up their happy asses.

What comes around goes around.

I'd be embarrassed to send that to someone. Even without the undisclosed chip. Nothing worse than getting a guitar that had last been played by a chicken wing eating SOB who didn't wash their hands.
