Cool. I used to live up in Pompano, then Lake worth prior (originally from the shitty state of NJ). My mom lives in Lake Worth, so I am up that way a bit still.
Give Alex a ring. If you come down this way, lmk.
Florida brethren... hey is MAE still open down there?

Update!!
Found some nutsauce lube and put a drop in that slot. So far staying in tune pretty good now that it is lubed.

Still bring back to tech or just keep lubing it forever? It does sound and play nice now that it stays in tune a bit better.

I use this.

I would just keep using the lube when you do a string change, the slot will eventually wear in on it's own.

Well if the lube worked. It tells my the string is binding in the nut. So some widening of the nut slot should prevent the binding of the string. But, lube is always good!

I’ve had luck winding GBE strings up rather than down. YMMV

I had a 1983 Les Paul Custom that would not stay in tune no matter what was done. Some are better than others is the only conclusion that I have reached over the years. I have one vintage 1983 Kramer that is dead perfect tuning wise and another that the G and high E strings tend to wander a little, same excellent tech worked on both of these guitars.

I also had J Frog superstrat with a Floyd that had tunning issues are well. I took it to a few techs and they said the neck wood was spongy. Again... it could be neck wood and or truss rod issues but it really comes down to luck of the draw and really spending some time with the instrument before one buys. Some can't do that these days so you are right back to luck of the draw........

Had an LP custom in the 90s that wudnt behave, took the next nut file up, gently Gently ran it thru a few times (not to full depth) on an angle heading towards the peg, that did it.

She's been solid with the lube. Any reco four drop in locking tuners? The stock are kinda shitty and prefer locking for string changes.

Technically the string butler shouldn’t work if the nut on the Gibson is cut right, since it pulls the strings straight and the nut slots are supposed to have a little angle on the back end, but I don’t think Gibson cuts their nuts right very often. The string butler and some nut lube have definitely helped those problem G and B strings on my LP. It’s about as solid as any other guitar I own.

I put a set of these one of my LP’s. I dig them . They’re a direct replacement for the deluxe tuners.

I play mostly LP's and every time there's an ongoing tuning issue it's the nut. Good luck!
