I have been trying pretty hard to stay out of these, but...

Old rich white men are a minority. They hate people that threaten their power, which includes all races and classes. Most white people are on the verge of poverty and aren't 60+ with millions in the bank. These people do not have your values. If you think race is the issue, you really have your head in the sand. Income inequality is a manufactured problem to keep the ruling class in power. And they don't give a *$#@ if you are a racial minority or white.
 
We may have escaped England, but we sure clung to their whole 'ruling class' way of doing things.
