Really a big fan of the 80's chorus sounds and after listening to a lot of demos for the Boss DC-2 it seems like my dream chorus, unfortunately i'd really rather not spend the kind of money most are asking for one used on ebay. Anyone know of other good chorus pedals that can really nail that cheesy 80's chorus sounds but at a little more reasonable price? I dig the chorus sounds i can get with my TC G major 2 but i like having the option to run chorus in front of my amp too especially when it comes to dirty tones. Any recommendations would be much appreciated and if anyone has a DC-2 and is looking to get rid of it feel free to send me a pm haha.

Honestly, for the price, the new MXR Micro Chorus is great. And you can readily find them used for $50 bucks here, on TGP, etc.

A good ol' Boss CE2 will always get the job done.

The Jaques Meistersinger chorus is also a less known chorus, but sounds GREAT. They recently revamped it for true bypass and a better housing.

Unfortunately nothing sounds like a DC-2. I've had one for a very long time. It's awesome.

i was on a quest like this once and LOVED the digitech whammy1 chorus...kick my self in the ass for selling it but i got offered $600 and couldnt turn it downm (that was the best chorus ever)....... i tried the fulltone choral flange and that DIDNT do the infront of amp overdrive 80s thing at all...........id say check out all the cheaper line of chorus's and if u can try and find a used TOKAI chorus and try that....

Seriously, try the Delta Lab Chorus. It's cheap, sounds great, metal housing and is true bypass. It doesn't have that thin metallic sound that a lot of chorus pedal have. I paid like $29 for a mine used one at GC.

I think the same thing, I was blinded by the big Ebay numbers and sold one but was hooked up by the man Barzini and bought another one.

There is only one Flesh.

The big Roland Chorus pedal has the Dimension C as a setting in there as well as the other CE2 etc .

I just got a new Boss PS-6 for adding a little harmonizing. But, it has a Detune setting on it that is awesome on the front end. My newest weapon!

Yeah the DC-2 really isnt a chorus ime....it doesnt have any sweep to it.

Maybe try a Neunaber Chroma.

What you want is a non-cyclical chorus, or nearly non-cyclical chorus (which the DC-2 is). The DC-2 uses a pair of trapezoidal-shaped Low Frequency waveforms, so it tends to glide the pitches up and down, rather than just wobble it like a normal chorusing effect.

Try retrosonic's chorus. best thing I've found to sound like the old roland boss giant 80's chorus. Kills for that Alex Lefeson type of gainy chorus sound, beautiful swirl....

How exactly is this unit different from other chorus pedals?

Anyone know any specific recordings it was used on to check it out?

Fromel Electronics Seraph is a DC-2 clone( Or at least its billed as such, Ill leave that up to the end user)

That said, I love my Digitech CF-7 Chorus factory and I also love the TC Corona Chorus..
